Rome was the end of a 2 week trip and we wanted a centrally located, affordable hotel with good service. That's exactly what we got. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is not a world class place you'll think of as a once in a lifetime stay, but it is a place that will make you feel welcomed at... More

We found this hotel to be very nice and would recommend it to our friends. The location is great. The Coliseum is very near, main sites like the Trevi Fountain are within walking distance. The Termini train station is only three blocks away. There is a grocery store down the street if you are inclined to buy drinks to keep... More

We paid extra for a superior room with a terrace at the Hotel Raffaello because we always enjoy some outdoor space to plan our day, relax, have a glass of wine, etc. For us, having this extra space was well worth it and we did indeed enjoy the time spent outside. The room was a nice size for a downtown... More

The hotel is nothing special. The location is not the best, especially at night. The staff restaurant recommendation has been poor. The rooms are so so, the shower super tiny. Im 6"4 and it was struggle sometimes. The walls are very thin so you hear other guests till later. I would not recommend to stay at this hotel. We stayed... More

Just home from a 3 night stay in Rome with my daughter. The hotel was easy to find and not too far to walk, about 10 minutes, from the Termini and just across the street from the St. Mary Maggiore which is worthy of a visit. We walked to the Colosseum, with ease as it's all down hill, in about... More

We'll recommend this place to all our friends and definitely stay here again. The staff were welcoming and professional, the location excellent, the decoration old-world lovely, the rooms clean and comfortable. The good Italian coffee and generous buffet breakfast is the ideal way to fortify yourself for a long day of sightseeing, and what a nice cool oasis to return... More

Dear Anne T, Thank you for the high appreciation you have of us! Indeed, there is no better compliment than that of being recommended to one's relatives or close friends... :) Raffaello's edifice was built in 1882, and the owners mantained its romantic style on purpose, a lot of our guests like it. We simply didn't want to be in... More

We were absolutely rigorous in our research as to the ideal place to stay. We chose this hotel based on other high ratings/reviews. First impressions were ok, we were lucky with the room compared to other guests. Breakfast lacks quality if you don't want chocolate or doughnuts. Tourist info given was helpful. The only thing this hotel has going for... More

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in April. Room was great - very clean. By far the best breakfast out of all the hotels we stayed at while in Italy. The staff was very nice and attentive. There are also so many great restaurants right down the street! We only needed to use a cab once during... More

Dear Caitlin K, Thank you for such a brief, but enthusiastic review! :) We are glad your staying here felt so right, and that somehow, maybe in a small way, we managed to give you something positive to remember... :) Caring about our guests' well being, we try to prove this by choosing the best products for breakfast, and through... I stayed at this hotel the first and last days of my Italy trip. I booked a single room. The first single had a double bed. Yay! The second time, one floor lower, was a little twin bed. Boo. Both rooms were tight, with very little space to move around in. And as indicated in other reviews, the shower is... More

Dear kitchenchemist, Where should I start from? Let's follow your review step by step: you had booked a single room twice, and we made you a free upgrade both cases. Your welcome, by the way! :) We are sorry to know you were expecting a complimentary bottle of water the second time, as well... There are plugs in every room,... More

Clean and courteous service and good location for visiting all Rome attractions. We walked to the Colosseum and the Forum, took a short cab ride to the Vatican. Several good places to eat nearby and of course several gelatoria close so that you can fully satisfy your sweet tooth.

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
