We spent 3 nights at the Raffaello Hotel, and were very satisfied with our choice. Most sites were within reasonable walking distance. The only site we took a taxi to was the Vatican, and that was because we had to be there at 7:45AM. The room was larger than expected, the bed was very comfortable, the "pillow menu" was a... More

As soon as we arrived the staff at reception upgraded our room at no extra cost. The room itself was lovely and comfortable. We were offered welcome drinks although I think we ended up in the wrong place for them as we paid our drinks (most likely our fault, not theirs) - however it was served with some lovely canapes.... We loved the location -- about 10 minute walk to Termini train station and about 15-20 minute walk to Colosseum and Roman Forum. We could walk everywhere we wanted to -- only the Vatican was a little too far to walk. The staff was very courteous, professional, and very helpful. The breakfast each day was excellent -- fresh bread and... More

Room was clean and basic. Great if spending day out touring and need a place to crash for the night. The location is close to Colosseum, Santa Maria basilica, and nice cafes, restaurants. Wifi very slow, showers are so tiny too. Forget it if you are a big person. breakfast is average and basic. Staff will assist if you ask... More

We stayed 5 nights in July, 2015. The hotel is aesthetically designed and very pleasant. The concierge Elena is the BEST!!! She was friendly, helpful and in every way, with great tips on restaurants etc. She takes great care of the customers. Our room was clean, very quiet and charming. The neighborhood of the hotel, Monti is very in now,... More

The Raffaello is quite a distance from the heart of Rome, such as the Via del Corso, Spanish Steps, etc - approx. 25 minutes' walk. However, the Trastavere neighbourhood in which it resides is very charming - residential, quiet, with cobblestone streets, giving you a feel of living like a local, with a wide variety of very reasonably-priced restaurants further... The hotel is beautiful with spacious room that has great amenities (jacuzzi shower, pillow menu!). The breakfast was also very good. Furthermore, the staff went completely above and beyond for us! In a rush to get out the door one day, i forgot to leave the key at the front desk. Turns out that I accidentally only booked for 2... More

Had a perfectly pleasant stay for my birthday and our 40th wedding anniversary. The day before we were due to leave I had a word with chief receptionist Maximo about room rates for the hotel, as ours seemed to be quite high, and we hadn't been able to get another quote for a superior room which was as high as... Dear DensView, thank you for you review. It is our mission to always try to fulfill our client’s requests, and maybe we were a bit way out of lines, but it happened because we felt accused of deceiving you (in the presence of other Guests). We probably had a wrong impression. In this case, please accept our apologies. Maybe in... More

We booked this hotel as it was great for value and close to all the sites. We were very pleased once we arrived to see how nice everything was. We had a nice sized bedroom with a huge bathroom and everything was clean and tidy. All of the staff were great and very helpful. The breakfast we had each day... More

Dear 1979Ian, Thank you for having shared us with the other Tripadvisor users, whom we would like to remind they have a special discount! :) Raffaello's position is indeed our main strength point: half a mile away from Termini, the main train station, equally laid between the 2 subway lines stops, and less than a mile away from the Coliseum,... Firstly, let me start off by saying that I travelled to Rome with a broken ankle, wrapped up in an aircast/ moonboot and with a wheeled walker and a set of crutches, so some of my comments will be more suited to those who have trouble walking up stairs, or require a wheelchair. Whilst the hotel has a lift, which... More

Sueeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! :) :) :) Glad to see you've made it home safe and sound, after so many adventures in your trip through Italy... :) As you pointed out really sharply, yes, there are staircases between our floors, to be made both up and down, so for people with severe mobility problems, we might not be the best choice, we are... Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
