I booked this hotel after just a little research, and my goodness, I'm glad I did. My husband and I arrived in late afternoon, hot and tired from our journey, and were immediately welcomed by the lovely Elena. Check in was swift and easy, our luggage was taken to our room (512) on the top floor, without even having to... More

The hotel is excellent located for visiting the major highlights in Rome. Station Termini and Metro Cavour is only a 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Superfriendly staff and nice interior. Breakfast is well organised.

Pros: close to train station, relatively easy to walk to multiple locations such as the Colloseum, good breakfast provided. Cons: rooms desperately need updated, wifi access very spotty, elevator inconsistent

Stayed in top floor room with a terrace. Room was quite large for Rome but very sparsely furnished, only one chair at the dressing table, so had to sit on the bed. There was plenty of room for armchairs or a sofa, shame really. The terrace was large and had a wrought iron table and three chairs. Again the space... More

This hotel was perfect for our family of four. The location is very close to the Roma Termini train station, Colisseum and the Forum. We felt safe in the area. We had a 2-room suite (small rooms), smallish bathroom, air conditioning (absolutely essential in August), a fridge, and free WiFi. The decor was nice. The lift, as most in Europe,... More

The room was clean and neat but found it too compact even though we were small built :). The bathroom especially too small. The toilet too closet o the shower. The staff at reception, especially the woman was not friendly.

Just had a wonderful weekend at the Raffaello. We stayed in 502 a superior room which didn't disappoint. It was spacious ,exceptionally clean with a beautiful balcony. Top floor and no problem with the lift. Breakfast catered for all needs and was served from 7 til 10 which was helpful for a lie in. Coffee facilities available and free wi... More

Every thing about the hotel is a little less than one might have expected - the rooms a little dingier, the concierge a little surlier but it's on a quiet street with some excellent restaurants and it's within walking distance of a number of sights. What really sets it apart, though, is the weird and revolting smell that pervades the... More

The Raffaello hotel is a cheap family-friendly Rome hotel, located near to the Termini railway station and the Colosseum in the trendy Monti district. The room was clean and impeccably, large and comfortable, the bathroom was huge with a small shower, maybe they are used to bath tubs. The breakfast room was lovely with a nice variety of foods the... More

The location on Google Street View makes it look like a sketchy dive. Don’t be fooled. All streets in Rome off the main drag are narrow alleys. The location could not be better. It is a short walk to Roma Termini (main train station), a couple of metro (subway) stations, a laundromat, the Colosseum and an abundance of eateries. The... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
