The room were given was nothing like the pictures on the web site.damp and bad smelling bathroom.1940 decor and shabby curtains and bedspread. We were only staying for two nights and we put up with it as we only slept there. The elderly gentlemen on reception spoke very little English and were not very helpful or welcoming. All in all we would not... Very helpful staff. Comfortable & clean room & ensuite, good choices for breakfast. BUT above all, fantastic location - so close to Roma Termini & therefore buses and taxis. Many great restaurants within easy walking distance - all grades of price but found several with excellent food.

My wife and I stayed here from Friday 5th December to Tuesday 9th December. The room was small but clean and was serviced every day. The bathroom was a little small but again clean, the only problem being the door was very difficult to open because it had swollen at the bottom. The staff were great, and let us leave... More

Our travel agent booked us into this 3 star hotel, prior to our boat trip. Our search indicated that it was a reasonably priced hotel, but the reality was somewhat different. On entering the dingy groun floor area, there were signs indicating at least 4 different hotels in the same building. We took the creaking 1920 style lift and crawled up to the first floor. The reception... Dear Guest I'm so sorry for this inconvenient, a terrible room before a cruise!!!! Your room is located on 5th floor, we renoveted next year....for this reason the price was reasonable... My partner and I stayed at Hotel Giorgi for three nights. We were very happy with our room - it was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was large and clean. The hotel staff were very friendly and made us feel at home. The breakfast bar was also very good as it provided a good variety of excellent food and drinks.... More

Average hotel but the room was very very small. The guy at reception was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and there were enough to choose from and the location is convenient as it is a block from the train station, busstops etc. Recommend this if you can share small space.

Although close to railway, the downside was getting around to all the attractions in the city. We found it easier to take the hop on hop off bus eventually. Lucky it was just husband and me as with this kids it would have been a lot worse. Don't expect a quiet stay here. And the streets leading up to this... More

Stayed here for four nights and while the stay was ok, it could have been far better. Location is handy, very close to Termini station and is easy to find, although the street outside is quite dirty. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from Ancient Rome and close to stop 1 for the Rome hop on hop off bus.... More

Hotel Giorgi was our first hotel of our Italian experience. The hotel is one block away from Rome termini and made it very convenient to explore Rome. It is also accessible to a lot of restaurants. While the rooms are basic; they were clean and serviced daily. The continental breakfast was also great. Staff were very friendly and most spoke... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
