Positives: - good beds, spacious room (we stayed in the 2 bed mixed) - wifi was decent (available until 1 AM) - nice common room and stocked kitchen area - blocks away from Roma Termini train station - wonderful and helpful staff Negatives: - bathroom could be improved (one light burnt out so only one lit bathroom available per floor,... We stay for two nights, we booked two beds in 5beds room for 10euro/person. When we arrived nice lady on the reception gave to us two beds room for ONLY 13/euro. It was great surprise because we have privatw bathroom inside! The heater was off.. It was very cold but in fact we didn't mention that. Hehe it was funny... More

I wouldn't recommend but people might find it "nice". I found the staff friendly and the hostel is only a couple of minutes away from the station and it's very close to the main touristic attractions. As a backpack traveller I normally try to find an accommodation that's also a good value for money and comfy and I don't find... More

Overall fine. The staff is calm and friendly but English speaking skills are on average level. The only discomfort is that the reception is on 2nd floor which is described no where and when you arrive for check in you loose some time to go up and down the floors by the time you hear a voice calling you "We... I'm usually a very flexible guy who doesn't need much, so I went for the cheap option since I was on a budget and all I needed was a bed, but this place is TERRIBLE. It's in a very bad neighborhood, the staff is extremely unfriendly and the rooms are creepy. I'm never setting foot near this place, and believe... More

This hostel or hotel (which they seem to call it on some signs) could be the worst hostel I have stayed at. It was difficult to find and when we got the room they forgot to give the keys to the room. Then there was hardly any light in the room since one light was flickering all the time and... More

The staff was nowhere to be found, the stoner place smelled, it was disgustingly dirty, the facilities were not working and unhygienic. The room was hot and humid with no fan as promised. The beds were cramped and tiny and worst of all, the beds have bedbugs. All of them. A LOT of them. And what's worse is they refused... More

The hostel is very well located, near by the main train and bus station of the city and other main spots. It's also pretty well cleaned. The relation quality/price is good and the crew is super nice and helpful. They give you advices about the city, the main tourist spots and help in whatever they can, specially a gentlemen named... Stayed a couple of nights with my friends and we just wanted a place to sleep since we were spending most of days out getting to know the city. The room was big and comfortable but being july, really hot. There was not any kind of fan or a/c. Also, the window in our room faced a extremely loud street,... More

Reviews are tricky - I'm compelled to give a fair review for the good of the community but in this case there were such amazing people that worked there that I'm conflicted since I believe this review might be taken as an indictment on them - it isn't. Let's get through the the facts - I stayed here for 5... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
