We've been staying here annually since 2001. It is our favorite hotel in all of Italy, let alone Rome. Beautiful rooms, attentive staff, great breakfast in the outdoor "greenhouse" and all in a walkable, quiet upscale neighborhood. AND, when we stayed here in summer (late August, early September 2009) we paid a few dollars less than we had paid for... more

If you're going to be on your feet for 12 hour sightseeing bootcamp days, then you need a restful night and a great breakfast to get you going! While the location is south and out of the way, the atmosphere and service were truly memorable. You can't go wrong staying in this gem! more

We were traveling to Italy for two weeks to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. We were looking for a really nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood to enjoy the Roman leg of our third trip to Rome since we were married. My family is Italian and my wife loves to cook my favorite food so were very much looking forward... more

Villa San Pio was truly a lovely place to stay in Rome, especially to get away from all the noise of the city. The hotel's location is on a beautiful street, and was an easy walk to Circus Maximus, which is not far from the Forum & the Colosseum. If you don't want to risk your life taking a cab,... more

Spent two great nights here at the start of our vacation in Italy and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our room (515) was excellent - elegantly decorated and furnished, and extremely clean throughout. Being a corner room it had plenty of light and also had a small balcony overlooking leafy streets. The en-suite bathroom was beautiful, although the bath with combined... more

Location: 15-17 mins walking distance from Circo Massimo metro station or 1 bus stop ride and 5 mins walking (take care about the bus tickets in advance - the driver does not sell them and the kiosk which sells them might be closed). The only "-" is that the road goes uphill, making it difficult to climb it under the... more

I found this hotel because I needed a place to park a car. I'll come back for the fabulous rooms and charming (if slightly out of the way) setting. San Pio is located in the middle of the Aventine Hill neighborhood - a leafy, residential area located 15 minutes walk from the Collosuem and just above the trendy Testaccio district.... more

Stayed here in Aug 2008 with a bunch of friends for a large car club event held outside of Rome. Loved the hotel, quiet residential neighbourhood always felt safe and was very close to various tourist spots including the collosium which was not far as was nearest tube stations! My double single use room was ultra clean and superbly furnished... more
