What a great find after a gruelling journey to Rome. We were given a top floor room with a sunny terrace, even though we had not paid top dollar. The suite was grand and quiet and the breakfasts ample in the adjoining building with glass-house overlooking the gardens. Welcoming staff and a peaceful lovely spot.

I spent 4 days in Rome and stayed at the Villa San Pio. The check in process was very efficient. The hotel has outdoor areas for drinks and meals, with covered ways between the buildings in case of rain. Gardens are very attractive. My room on the ground floor was clean and well equipped. The bathroom was clean and had... More

My wife and I came here on our honeymoon. On our arrival we discovered there was a mistake with our reservation - they had two rooms reserved for us instead of just one. We were worried that they would charge us for both rooms but after contacting their manager, everything got sorted out. The staff were helpful and courteous. The... More

Located on the Aventine, the Hotel Villa San Pio is tucked away from the hectic pace and noise of Rome. To get to the normal tourist sights or business destinations requires either a taxi or a bit of walking. Buses, street cars, and the metro can be easily reached within a five to ten minute walk. Although the rooms are... More

We have stayed in the San Pio many times, such that it feels like home. Rooms are very good tho' a bit dated. Great location in the quiet neighborhood of Aventino. Easy access to bus line and metro and easy walking distance to Trastevere. Wonderful breakfast with many eating options. The large and beautiful garden area between hotel buildings is... More

The Villa San Pio hotel is a nice property in a villa style in Aventino region. The room are very nice and well furnished. The area is very quiet, very residential, and at the same time from a walking distance from several main attractions in downtown area and metro stations. The breakfast is served in its "varanda" area with lots... More

We loved everything, excellent hotel, soooo romantic! Beautiful rooms, very polite staff always happy to help or give directions, free wifi in the rooms and everywhere else. Close to public transportation and also the receptionist is more than happy to call you a taxi that always arrives super fast. They even brought us wine in the room to celebrate my... More

Because of its nearness to Italian friends, we find ourselves in Rome almost annually. However, this was our first stay on the Aventine Hill and at the S. Pio. We will be back. The neighborhood is probably the most tranquil in the center of Rome. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is great (grazie, Ettore, Rita and Fabrizio). The... More

This was our 3rd visit to Rome; we had stayed in one of the San Pio's sister hotels previously. Villa San Pio is located in a residential neighborhood on one of the seven hills of Rome - the Aventine Hill. Although a short walk from Circus Maximus and other Roman sites, because of it's location it is a cool and... More
