We stayed here for two weeks in June, and found it clean, comfortable, and in an agreeable but not central neighborhood. Our room was a good size and well-appointed. The staff were amiable and competent. The breakfasts were very well done, with seating inside and outside in the garden. Only complaint: the WiFi was very annoying indeed; codes lasted for... More

We had a very pleasant stay at this Hotel. The rooms were comfortable and richly furnished and decorated yet it would be more convenient to put any shelves in the room or hangers as the cupboard is very small and without any shelves. Best Location in Rome in a wonderful quiet area called Aventino. The breakfast area is simply wonderful,... More

Hotel located in a smart area of Rome, which we chose primarily for the free car parking as we had hired a car. The hotel was around a 20min walk to the collesium. When we booked in January, we asked to reserve a parking space but were told that this wasn't possible. When we arrived, the carpark was full so... More

Hotel is locate in a very exclusive area of Rome (Aventino), out of the crowd but very close to downtown and to the roman ruins. has a quite nice garden with secular trees, which is between the three small buildings hosting the rooms. Prices are too much floating according to the request (from 100 to more than 200 Euro for... More

At a time of year when Rome is busting at the seams with tourists, staying at the Villa San Pio and starting the morning with breakfast in the greenhouse was a great experience. The hotel is a very beautiful, classic property in an elegant residential neighborhood. It is serviced by a very polite staff. I will recommend this hotel to... More

We stayed here for two nights on the hill. Our previous stay in Rome was in the tourist area, and this was a appreciated escape from the concrete and fumes. It was a 14 euro cab ride from Termini. The hotel is in a residential neighborhood with many trees. It is a few blocks to the top of the hill... More

So enjoyed our stay here for almost a week this summer. The breakfast in the garden is fabulous. We regret that we had to miss it twice due to an early flight and an early departure on a day trip to Naples. Recommend their cappuccino. Get the front desk personnel to make your dinner reservations for you. It is just... More

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
