Overall we were very pleased with our stay . Our room was 262 and it was plenty big enough for the three of us , me my wife and my 6 yr old daughter. It was about 20 minutes walk to the colosseum and about 10 minutes to the underground station circa massimo. The breakfast was very good and plenty to... More

very nice, has a style, old and look Italian,,,, the best about it is that it is not in the center of the city, in a very calm area, and also not far from the city. I walked everywhere easily, but I love walking, and if you dont't there are buses and other means to get to the city center... More

Our corner room on 4th floor (528 I believe) had a wonderful balcony with a good view of both the city and the garden. Breakfast was good, as was the staff. Internet worked for us. Computer with printer. (be sure and google how to achieve the @ sign on an Italian keyboard). Clients a mix of business and tourists, which... More

We had a reasonably priced superior room, on an upper floor corner with great balcony, and view of city,. Quiet and comfortable, within a good residential neighborhood. Walking distance of various forms of public transport, tourist attractions, nightclubs and restaurants. Great breakfast, and friendly staff.

Such a lovely setting, with the breakfast room in the beautiful gardens. Very quiet area but very convenient - less than 10 minutes walk for Pyramide underground station and buses - but you can walk to the Colleseum in less than 15 minutes. Also just 5 minutes walk to lots of nice restaurants in Testaccio. Nice churches at the top... More

Villa San Pio ( after Padre Pio), is located in a quiet residential area of Aventine, one of the seven hills of ancient Rome. The Circus Massimo and Forum was about a 10-15 minute plus walk and the Colosseum not that much further. Just two blocks from the hotel is also the Basilica of Santa Sabina. Not far from the... We lived in the hotel for a week. It was a quiet, nice room with ancient-like furniture, with a beautiful balkony and with a luxurious bathroom. Tasty breakfasts, friendly staff. The hotel is verz well located - you can walk on the Aventinhill, which is very nice and many highlights are reachable afoot. It was also not expensive. We were delighted.

Used this hotel on first trip to Rome. Lovely quiet location, though about 20 minutes walk to coliseum, great breakfast, comfortable large bed, staff very helpful and friendly and all english speaking. Our room could maybe have done with a little tlc and the jacuzzi bath was very old and didnt work, but that would be my only negative. Area... More

We stayed middle of April 2015 for four nights at the Villa San Pio as a family with two teenagers in two separate, nicely decorated spacious rooms on the fourth floor of the old-stylish annex (there are three different buildings). The whole place and its surrounding is extremely charming, quiet and clean / well maintained! Friendly and very helpful staff... More

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
