A lovely clean hotel, with outstanding and helpful staff. My husband and I stayed here in September. The hotel is outside the area with the main tourist attractions, but we really enjoyed this. There are a lot of students in the area, and small trattorias, shops, etc. There is a great grocery store just next door. The area does look... More

Hotel was very clean, hotel staff very helpful. Buffet breakfast was very plentiful. Hotel very near to tram No.3 which takes you to Coliseum. Evening cocktails 2 for 1. Lots of nearby restaurants and cafes. However, bare in mind that the walls of hotel are paper thin. Rome itself is full of graffiti so the historical buildings make the Rome... More

San Lorenzo is a local neighbourhood just outside the ancient city walls and near to the Rome Termini Railway station. The population is mixed with students (it is close to the City University, young families, old people and some migrants. The 3 start hotel is an oasis of calm and quiet on one of the back streets (Via dei Liguria)... More

We arrived in Rome from Fluminco airport, taking the train to Termini cost of 14 euro each, this was the easy bit!!! We then took the Number 14 tram to San Lorenzo cost of 1.50 euro each. We reached San Lorenzo to find an area full of graffiti, it was most unnerving!! The locals were not very helpful when we... More

The hotel has a lovely courtyard out front, a roof terrace with sun loungers, a good breakfast and good sized rooms. The area looks a bit run down to start off with, but it's actually alive with restaurants, bars and gelaterias, and is not far from the central station/trams/metro. The best thing about this hotel is the staff - when... More

This was our second visit to this lovely hotel. Our first visit was wonderful , and the second visit was just a delight . The staff from Antonio the manager to Pascal the barman and the morning staff all a delight remembering our favourite drink , and going out of there way to make our trip such a good memory... More

I've visited Rome for 3 days late June-2014 and apparently we've made ...smart choice. The hotel is small,clean,quiet-after a long day in the city that's what you need-.Great location since you can use the public transport to different areas that are close. The staff are kind and they"ll try to help you with all sort of information needed.Rooms have that romantic ambience... Four of us booked this hotel on the strength of the reviews we had seen, we stayed for 2 nights before going on a cruise. The surrounding area does look a little rough on first impressions but the hotel is welcoming, all of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are adequate in... More

The Villa is a decent property with a nice green courtyard which makes it look spacious. The staff is also nice and helpful. The breakfast selection is also quite decent. However, the rooms are tiny with no points to plug in even phone chargers!! The major drawback is the location.. Despite the reviews, we found this quite far from the... More

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are typically European (minute!) but clean. I misread the google maps when I booked this place - no metro stops anywhere near it, there is the tram line but this only takes you to the Colosseum. All the other obvious places you would want to visit in Rome on a short... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighborhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
