The owner manned the front desk during the day, and his wife was in charge of housekeeping. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I travel through most of western Europe, and for the price of the room it is an excellent stay.

This hotel is only 2 blocks from the train station, Termini, and is within walking distance of Colosseum and a few other must-sees. The location is therefore superior. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also have a good reasonable breakfast. Wifi worked from the room. Many shops, restaurants, markets, cafes....all over the hotel as well. The downsides to this... More

The location of this hotel is very good, and easy walk to the Termini train station. Friendly staff, room was clean and neat, they have a small lift to help get to your room. We took the train to St Peters and walked back, looks far on the map but is a comfortable walk and if you stop for lunch... More

The location was perfect because it was two blocks away from the termini. Room and bathroom were spacious and clean(room 608). Breakfast was delicious. Hotel was quaint and unassuming from the outside. It was near Santa Maria Maggiore and we could go to mass everyday. There was a good cheap restaurant nearby (sandhu caffe)which served baked chicken and potatoes,a break... More

The best part of our stay was the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. The faucet came apart and there was no sink stopper. The hard to clean parts of the bathroom were not clean. We received fresh towels of excellent quality every day. The breakfast room was nice, very clean and well kept by very efficient staff. The worst... More

We stayed in this hotel July 4th through 6th of 2013. The rating really should be somewhere above poor, but not quite as good as an average rating. The hotel is very close to the train and although many people commented about feeling unsafe we were there with our two daughters age 8 and 12 and did not feel unsafe... More

I didn't expect much when I ordered this hotel, because it was the "rush" time during September and many hotels were full so we weren't too picky. I was happily surprised when i got a clean comfortable room which wasn't too small and had all the facilities we needed. the room was on the fifth floor and it was quiet... More

I stayed there for 10 days. Pros: The location is perfect. Close to the termini station, several restaurants and stores. The breakfast is good. The room is clean. The staff is helpful (but...). Cons: They can be very grumpy sometimes. They barely speak english. When I stayed there, the elevator wasn't working (the hotel is on the 2nd or 3rd... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
