Very large comfortable and elegant rooms. May not include free breakfast or wifi yet one of our favourite places. You have no time to stay in doors during your visit to Rome. So much to see and do. Vatican + Fontana Trevi + Colosseum + Spanish steps, I could go on. Everything was breathtaking. Must visit once 👍♥️

I slept here for 3 nights. Staff guys were nice and helpful. Bed was comfortable and the room was OK. This hostel is just for blocks away from Termini -Rome train and bus central station- so you can go anywhere from there. Not the best hostel to meet people, sometimes I felt it pretty lonely!

The hotel is very close to Termini station thru via vicenza and right next to castro pretorio metro station. Wifi was horrible even on the 5floor and you have to buy in the rooms. Breakfast very pricy at €8. Rooms are quite spacious and beds comfortable. Even the toilets were quite clean during my stay. Pietro the receptionist was very... More

We stayed 3 nights at carlitos way in Rome, It was a lovely hostel with great wifi and clean freshly made beds everyday. Toilets and bathrooms were always clean and stocked. The room was a nice big size with a radiator powerful enough to heat the whole room. The metro and a small supermarket are a two mintute walk from... More

The room we stayed in, was perfect for us. It was a reasonable size with twin beds, a mirror and a wardrobe and dressing table. The location of this hostel was incredible. It was just a short walk to Termini metro line and train station and Castro Pretorio metro. The neighbourhood was quiet enough however we did hear some noise... More

Carlito's Way Hotel and Hostel is located in perfect location. Its very close to bus, metro stations and the central railway station. Its also based in posh and quiet area, close to the American Embassy and expensive hotels. What we really liked about the hostel was the lounge where you could meet other travelers from around the word, well equipped... More

On arrival the staff were awful, they didn't even look up from the desk. The room was pleasant enough and the bathrooms were good. Stay was totally ruined by the manager being incredibly rude to me after I misunderstood a cleaner who spoke no English. The manager treated me like a destructive childish guest. I wouldn't recommend it if you... More

Even if the guy who worked the night shift wasn't very friendly, he was apathetic and treated us poorly when we arrived, the room was more than we expected. The price was really good too! The place is central and it's only a 5 min walk from the nearest metro station and it's no problem if you wanna walk into... More

I booked for 1 person for Carlito's Way but was upgraded (for free!) to stay in their sister hostel Des Artistes, so I am not in a position to comment on the room and such. Extremely close from termini station. However, the staff is extremely helpful throughout my 1 week stay there, and that's definitely a thumbs up from me.... More

Hostel was not at the same location as reception; We felt unsafe in and around the hostel. No common room or kitchen yet shared bathrooms in a quiet and errie hallway. Not a hostel or a hotel. Felt very threatened. DO NOT STAY stayed June 2014

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
