Having stayed there 4 times before, we know the fine rooms and breakfast, but we are not costumed to cold weather in Rome, so this was new, we used 3 blankets for sleep, it worked. As always very little or no noise, even on this last day of the year. We stayed from 30/12-2/1-2015.Wonderful kind people and don`t forget to... More

Our original b and b messed up our booking and luckily we were directed to Villa della fonte. What a treat for us. 4 nights of restful sleep in a comfortable bed in a large ensuite room. The common area for breakfast was a perfect quiet spot to start a busy day touring. The rooftop garden was delightful. One evening... More

This is a wonderful place to stay in Rome--though you'd never know it was there if you hadn't done some research first. The managers were friendly and helpful, and the housekeeping staff excellent. Breakfast on the secluded rooftop terrace was also lovely, with plenty of pastries, fruit, eggs, cheese, yogurt, etc. We liked the room very much--there wasn't a lot... More

This nicely managed, immaculately clean, authentic tiny b&b is situated right in the heart of Trastevere and is equally close either to Vatican, or Colosseo, or Villa Borghese. Plentifull breakfast is served individually - in your room or on a green outside terrace. Rooms have good modern windows with plastic solid shutters which block outside sounds if someone is passing... More

We just came from 4 nights in this wonderful place. In the heart of Trastevere in the center of every thing is situated this small lovely guest house. The rooms are simple but very clean and comfortable and the stuff is very kind and helpful. We have been staying in this hotel already few years (we come to visit Rome... More

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights on the 11th May. It's in a great area of Rome called Trastevere, just off the piazza st Maria, full of great little restaurants and shops and away from the major tourist spots. Our room was good, comfy bed and had a stocked fridge. The villa only has 5 rooms and... More

Wonderful host at reception, Dalila and a warm welcome after a wet arrival in a monsoon from the night guy. Great service with breakfast in bed and a cozy place to stay in Trastevere. Close to everything yet tucked away perfectly! Don't forget to bring your map, and one should be prepared to walk a few steps to get to... More

My Roman experience started with a not so pleasant time at the train station, 'Termini' with the taxi driver throwing my bag onto the road! After climbing into a 2nd taxi, and making my way to the hotel, the lost taxi driver called the hotel - ending up with Claudio meeting and accompanying me some distance across the square to... More

We spent four perfect days in this utterly charming B&B. We fled there at short notice after 2 horrendous days in sub-standard accommodation - review to come - to an absolutely spotless room, crisp linen, a very comfortable bed and staff who went out of their way to make our stay something special. After inquiring about tea and coffee making... More

This was our first visit to Rome; we were delighted with everything at this hotel. The staff was wonderful and very gracious. We were made to feel right at home in this charming hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable and pleasantly appointed. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast on the patio or in our room. The location was perfect including the... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
