We spent two nights at Fenix for a short break in Rome, and I relied on the guides written here when booking it. You guys didn't let me down! It is a fair distance from the city centre but we used the nearest Metro stop at Bologna to get in and out . As previously mentioned, it is only a... more

The Hotel Fenix is located approximately 15 minutes away from the main train terminal if travelling by bus. Upon arrival, the staff were friendly and provided us with a map of the town center and also the numbers of the buses that ran to the major attractions and sights. The room was clean although a little dated. One complaint about... more

Hotel Fenix is a decent sized hotel on the outskirts of the city centre. There is a bus stop on the main road just outside the hotel however we chose to use the Metro. The nearest station is Bologna on Metro Line B and is about a 10-15 minute walk through a safe neighbourhood. We stayed in room 102 which... more

I just spent two weeks at the Fenix. I stayed as part of a group on business and after a mix-up with our first hotel the Fenix was much appreciated. The staff were very helpful and courteous at all hours of the day or night. The room was serviced regularly. There are good restaurants, shopping and a fantastic gelateria within 10 to 12... more

Hotel Fenix was a delight for me. I discovered that it is located just far enough outside the congested city center, in a beautiful tree-lined neighborhood (Trieste) where you will encounter mostly only Romans. Nearby there was excellent bus service to the Coliseum and the Roman Forum (take bus # 84) or to the Vatican (take bus # 62). This... more

This is a small Hotel that in its day I'm sure was lovely. It is now showing its age as with most its very rude staff. The rooms are ok and have good AC, but they are tired and old and cleanliness could be better. I had mould around the bath and a spilt drink from the previous guest was... more

After having a less than desirable hotel last year in Rome, the Hotel Fenix was a wonderful surprise. This hotel had a warm and cozy feel about it, which may be due to its small size. Besides all the amenities one could expect in a European hotel, they even had free internet access. The location being in a residential neighborhood... more

We have just returned from a four day break in Rome...After reading so many reviews on the very different accommodation on offer we decided to choose the Fenix Hotel. From the moment of stepping through the doors the staff were both friendly and very helpful. Information on local transport was very useful as the taxi drivers in Rome tend to... more

This is a lovely hotel with medium sized, clean rooms with adequate A/C (did not get below 72 degrees) but not unbearable. The staff was accommodating and the breakfast was the same european breakfast but we were surprised one day with VERY delicious eggs, which our tour group devoured. On two mornings we had to leave before breakfast was served... more
