I've stayed at Fenix several years in a row and will continue to do so. It's located about 30-45 minute walk from Collosseum, but the bus stop is only 30m from the hotel, the metro is 15 minutes walk away. Busses runs frequently both early morning & late night (just look at the billboard at each stop and you can... More

I came here misled by the 4-point rating in Tripadvisor. The rooms are tiny (at 150 EUR for a single room it was probably the most expensive hotel square meter I've ever seen) and dated. The wifi is very slow. The location is far from central. I can't believe anyone could call this hotel "excellent". Avoid the Fenix. More

I'm very sorry for the bad impression you had about the Hotel; you have had a single room, which is very small, as it is mentioned in our website, it is 9mq sized and is a basic room at a good price of Euro 95.00 (b&B) in high season in Rome. You have paid Euro 50.00 extra because you have... More

Although the road and metro links are close by (bus a few metres and metro 10 mins walk maximum) its still a good 30 mins to Cavour/Collosseum for example and on Sunday the metro line was closed for maintenance and the bus service is reduced. So after a day sightseeing, I found it a bit of an effort to make... More

We stayed in a 4 bed suite last week. It was a very well decorated and kept hotel. It is a 20 minute walk to the nearest tube station, however there is regular bus service which stops near the hotel. A travel pass enables you to travel on all public transport so you don't need to worry about buying bus... More

the Fenix does offer good value for money. Our first visit to Rome, and we had not done our research. learn the public transport before you go for the first time as taxis do not operate properly or honestly in Rome. This hotel is near to a metro stop and very close to the bus stops. Good points then are... More

It is a fair walk to the closest metro (Bologna), but the busstop is relative closeby at the Via Nomentana. To the Piaza Venetia runs bus nr36 in about half an hour via Termini. After 24.00 hrs the trafic noise from the Via Gorizia becomes much less in my room at the street side. Excellent roomservice at all hours! More

nestled in the residential parioli district about a 12-minute bus ride from the train station, the hotel offers fine service, decent-sized rooms, and a very good buffet breakfast. one morning there was even blood oranges in the made-from -scratch fruit salad. the number 36 or 84 bus stops right across the street. the hotel is within walking distance of the... I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions although not frequently. Their rooms are smallish as are their beds (queen size bed at best for two - i.e. a little more than "una piazza e mezza"). That is why I have not given them 5 stars (i.e. excellent). Value, service, courtesy, cleanliness, sleep quality are all first rate. Location... More

My husband and I have stayed at Hotel Fenix many times over the past ten years. When the hotel was a "three star," Conde Naste Traveler magazine once called it the "best three star hotel in Western Europe." Now Fenix has four stars, and with the brand new addition and opening of a new restaurant in the hotel they may... More

This hotel is in a leafy, well to do neighborhood up on a hill away from the city center. It's a good choice if you are visiting the University (La Sapienza). With one exception, the staff was helpful and friendly. There's a decent restaurant in the basement and a small bar on the first floor. Rooms are average size. More
