This hotel is in a leafy, well to do neighborhood up on a hill away from the city center. It's a good choice if you are visiting the University (La Sapienza). With one exception, the staff was helpful and friendly. There's a decent restaurant in the basement and a small bar on the first floor. Rooms are average size. More

Near a metro stop, or bus line, but outside the noisy hubbub of the centre, this hotel is located on a treed, quiet street with comfortable rooms. The staff worked diligently to see that our stay went well. A nice respite to come home to after a day of touring. More

The Hotel Fenix provided us a lovely, but small room with a very comfortable bed for our visit to Rome last week. I agree with some of the other posts here that the breakfast buffet was pretty ordinary and the staff did seem jaded...a perfect word to describe them. They just weren't very warm and welcoming. When asked to recommend... More

Realy nice hotel with beautiful decorated rooms. Great disadvantage: the hotel is situated very far from the city centre. If you want to visit all the things that make Rome famous, you have to walk (30 minutes), or take one of the (frequent) busses. The outside of Hotel Fenix is terrible, but look through that and enter the beautiful redecorated... More

We arrived at the Fenix hotel and it is way out in the sticks! The room was very resonable and clean but very small. The breakfast was pretty ordinary and basic. The place is run down and jaded. We were attracted to it a it had a 4 star rating. It does not merit 4 stars at all and this... More

We were moved to this hotel when the air conditioning at our booked hotel didn't function and my traveling companion -- who is an asthmatic -- needed a place with all-night A/C. We reluctantly packed up and moved to the Fenix, only to find that it was absolutely wonderful! I would say that the room was a bit larger and... More

Stayed with my wife at the fenix for 5 nights during our stay in Rome. The staff were friendly and helpful. Some reviewers commented on the rooms being small. I felt our room was typical of hotel room size and suited our needs. It was clean, linen changed regularly, towels changed daily. Everything that was supposed to work, worked. Breakfast... More

I stayed there two nights for my business trip. It is located far from Roman world heritages in the embassies' area in Roma, so I think you would use a taxi from Termini station. Breakfast was included in the room rate and a cup of hot cappuccino was served in the morning. My room was large for one person furnished... More

I've been at hotel fenix 2 or 3 times on travel trips. The place is nice and clean, and the staff is extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast is ok. Rooms (the ones I've seen) are nice, even if not-so-big. Beds are comfortable. Recommended. More
