This isn't a great hotel and the staff are awful. Trying to be fair, it's well located for all the sights, but there are plenty of others in similar location which would do just as well. The people who work here are unpleasant and rude, especially the bald fat guy on at night, they are surly and unhelpful. Room is... More

the photos from the internet are not very concludent and I have a little emotion when I see the old building which is the headquarter of the hotel. But you go to Rome because is an old city so that is it!. The hotelis occupiyng only second floor of the building and maybe this oculd be a reason for why... More

My wife and I stayed here in December 2014 during an 8-day, 3 country holiday trip. Our visit to Rome was sandwiched between Paris and Amsterdam. We really enjoyed our stay at the Clarin hotel because of it's location and friendly staff. It is located within a 10 minute walk of Termini station, and maybe a 20 minute walk of... More

Hotel Clarin was a pleasure to stay in and right in the heart of Rome. I booked this hotel not expecting much except for the bare minimum. The price was way too good especially for its great location. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was the best hotel we ended up staying at throughout or whole backpacking trip... More

We stayed here whilst backpacking. The staff were really helpful and suggested areas for us to eat and get a drink, they also pointed all the places we should visit on a map for us. This was really helpful as we' not been to Rome before and it saved us time searching for places. The room was basic but clean... More

For what we paid it was good value. We had booked a double room. When we got there a twin had been reserved the receptionist was lovely and changed the booking (without us asking) to a family room. This was on the fifth floor. The lift was being fixed at the time - although I don't know if I would... More

This hotel was modern, clean, had fantastic air conditioning (essential for Rome in July!) and a basic but nice breakfast. The safe in the room was also free. First time we have stayed in a two star hotel and we were pleasantly surprised! The only negative was the fact that the view out the window was of the opposite building... More

the hotel is located on the second floor of an old building. (there is an elevator but ofthen does not work) The location is good but would not return, very small bathroom and outdated room. No daily change of towels. The breakfast (pay extra) is ok.

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
