Hotel Stendhal in Rome, Italy was a lovely surprise! My brother stayed there in March 2005 and highly recommended it, mainly because of the location. We wanted a quiet room, which means NOT on the street and no view, but a good night's sleep was our #1 requirement. The staff was extremely professional, and because we stayed 7 nights, we... more

Excellent location just a 2 min walk from the train station. Central to all the tourist sights, easy walking distance. Moderate sized room, spotless, quiet, friendly helpful staff. Free wifi in the lounge area. Breakfast included. Say no more. more

I recently visited Rome as a solo traveler for a few days. I booked the Hotel Stendhal on the internet as my travel agent had mentioned it as a good hotel. The initial contact via internet was immediate and helpful with all my queries well answered. When I arrived in Rome I was greeted and shown to a great room... more

Room size acceptable; Toilet was good upon European standard, very good hair-dryer was a bonus ; No kettle provided, a disappointment as it's a 4 stars hotel; Forget the breakfast, I didn't feel "a loss" even miss to have it. Overall is acceptable, but price a bit high. more

We just returned from the hotel Stendhal in Rome and would like to say that it was a joy to stay in a hotel with such class. The location was fabulous as we were within walking distance to the Trevi fountain, Spanish steps and Colosseum. Our many thanks to Fabrizio and staff for making our visit so enjoyable! Mary more

Just a 2 night stay in this boutique gem found on Tripadvisor. The Hotel Stendhal was just as elegant as pictured on the website with a great traditional style decor, marble bathrooms with modern plumbing that worked, fluffly thick white towels and a room with all the inclusions that the traveller needs. The rooms may be a bit small, but then in a... more

I loved this hotel. Lovely decor, rooms were small but very stylish and had everything we needed. We came for a birthday celebration, 4 couples minus kids and they were very nice to us and kept the prosecco flowing. There were families staying and they were very warm and friendly, I will return with mine. more

Hotel and staff were great! Rooms extremely quiet, clean and well decorated - a little on the small side but charming. Breakfast was very good and in a cozy area that gave us a wonderful start to each day. Location was perfect - we walked everywhere and never had to take a cab. A great place to stay!! On another... more

Great hotel, centrally located just minutes from the Spanish Steps (or drinks at the Hassler), steps from the Triton Fountain and stops for the city tour buses, walking distance to good restaurants and the Trevi Fountain as well as shopping on the Via Veneto or Via del Corso. The Breakfast buffet is convenient and the pastries delicious. And, the staff... more
