This hotel is ideally situated for Barberini and the metro. Most taxi drivers don't seem to know it so make sure you ask for the Barberini end of Via del Tritone. The rooms are a decent size and the staff are very friendly and helpful. What lets it down is the service from the waiting staff at breakfast. They always... More

Very good standard Hotel, clean and well placed for a lot of Rome must visit sights. This is one of the most friendly Hotels I've been in Rome, (I come often to visit family) the man who served me the most at breakfast remembered my preferences, I appreciated that. As the servings at breakfasts diminish, the staff promptly fill them... More

I found the Stendhal Hotel on my last leg of our recent trip to Italy. It's four blocks from the Trevi fountain in the Barbarini district. I was on my own at this point of the trip and had the cutest little single room. The hotel is spotless and decorated beautifully. They serve a wonderful complimentary breakfast and have snacks... What can I say, except, the Hotel Stendhal is an amazing value for the location. As noted on prior reviews, our room was small by American standards (normal for European standards), slightly on the warm side and the traffic was constant (Via Del Tritone is a major thoroughfare, which we considered more of a benefit than hindrance). With the exception... More

Very conveniently located, this hotel gives you all you need when visiting Rome: nice comfortable rooms and very friendly service. For a more private stay you can request a room in the annex. Breakfast is good, not great - but you don't come to Rome to eat at your hotel, do you? Concierges are attentive and always ready to give... More

I choose this hotel just for its position ( and according the trip reviews). It is near Theatre Sistina, Barberini square and the underground stop. I choose the single room because I was alone but is was not a good choice. The room was very little. One size is just the size of the bed plus a little table that... More

I went there for 5 nights from March 4 to March 9th, 2015. The room was booked a non smoking room with a shower/tub combination. I wrote an email to the hotel to confirm prior to arrive there that it was really a non smoking room, they answered back to me that it will be. I want to be as... More

I stayed here with my mom for about a week. We stayed longer than we planned because she had an accident and needed to recover. I must say everyone (men on reception, bell men, waitors, housekeepers, bar lady, everyone!) at the Stendhal Hotel was extremely supportive, nice and kind to us. In addition to the great support and service provided... More

We were supposed to stay at Mascagni Hotel but they messed up our reservation and double-booked our rooms. After bundling us in a taxi we ended up at Stendhal, their "sister" hotel. We didn't want to stay here but were given no choice. I'll be objective as I can. First thing to say is this place is never a 4... More

Spent 4 nights at the Hotel Stendhal as a birthday treat. Firstly this hotel is perfectly situated for exploring Rome! It is located within walking distance of many of the cities key attractions including Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. In fact we did not take any form of transport for the whole of our stay and walked everywhere from the... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
