We stayed here just two nights after returning from Tuscany and before returning home to the U.S. The rooms in our suite were well-appointed and spotlessly clean. The staff was highly attentive, and the location quite central to many points of interest. Highly recommended.

We just checked in. A week ago we stayed at another hotel in Rome, paid a decent amount more, and had similar problems to the ones reported negatively below. Old European hotels are quirky even at greatest prices. For the cost, the place is wonderfully spacious, the staff is friendly and responsive and breakfast is included. We looked far and... More

This hotel was a pleasant surprise, close to all the main attractions. It is clean and comfortable. The room was a little warm , but with the balcony doors open it was comfortable. We loved the breakfast salon, and the staff were friendly , efficient and courteous. I recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

My wife and I stayed at the Stendhal for six nights. First stay at this hotel for us. We had stayed several times at the Mascagni, which we were told is part of the same ownership. We booked a room at their new 'annex' around the corner, on Via Sistina, which has separate access. These rooms are about 15% more... More

First impressions were very good. The decor was very nice, the staff were helpful and professional. Breakfast was plenty for us with good coffee. Even the toiletries in the bathroom were good quality. Then it began to go wrong. We had a quiet back room overlooking an internal courtyard right next to a storeroom. This storeroom was accessed frequently during... More

Given we were paying in excess of AUS$420 per night this hotel was a little disappointing. Bed comfort was OK with quite a small room, starting to get a little tired. Wi Fi was very poor and we were given the excuse that there are a lot of rooms using the Wi Fi. Location Ok. However I think I will... More

Our tour operator recommended this hotel for our independent tour of Rome. It is well situated in central Rome and has good access to public transportation. The room was comfortable and well-appointed with many little extras. The noise from the street was hardly noticeable.

We enjoyed our 3 nights at this small hotel. The staff were helpful and the rooms were as advertised. the lobby bar was a very nice spot for a drink after walking around all day and the breakfast was nice. The only disappointment was that we booked and prepaid for 4 nights and upon arrival were told that they were... More

The most important first impression in a hotel room is the cleanliness of the bathroom and this hotel passed with flying colours. Whilst the room may not have been big, we were hardly in it with so much to see in Rome, so not an issue for us. Most important was clean linen and towels, very friendly and attentive staff... More

We stayed in this beautiful boutique hotel for 4 nights. It's ideally located near the Trevi fountain, Spanish steps and a block from the metro. The rooms were clean, quiet and staff was very friendly (Suraj at the front desk was especially helpful). Definitely recommended!

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
