I was treating my sons and their girlfriends to a few days in Rome and had picked out Hotel Stendhal for their stay on account of its central location. My communications with the hotel beforehand - with Fabrizio - were friendly and reassuring. What follows are the opinions of my sons and their girlfriends : The hotel was ideally situated... More

We traveled with another family and they found this hotel. I was very happy with the location. We were able to walk anywhere in the city. 5 min to Trevi fountain, 10 min to Pantheon, 10 min to the Spanish steps, 20 min to Piazza Navona, 20 min to the Colosseum/Forum. Right next to Piazza Barberini with subway and taxis... More

The weather in July 2015, in Rome was extremely hot which restricted some of our activities during the day, with the hotel always being a pleasant respite. Hotel staff were always friendly and helpful especially Val in the bar. We spent most evenings, after dinner at one of the many delightful near by restaurants, chatting with other guests with Val... We have just returned home from a trip to Italy. We stayed four nights at Hotel Stendhal at the beginning of our trip and one night on the way home. We found this hotel clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. We especially enjoyed our talks with Valerio over a glass of wine or two! He was so... More

Like others, I checked into Hotel Stendhal, only to be told that my room was not available that evening. Instead of the double room that I booked, and paid for, I was put into a single (box) room. I was staying for four evenings. I found the reception manager extremely rude over this event. I have written asking for a... More

Dear customer, every opinion is important, and each reviews are important; but your review is absolutely not correct and it is totaly partial . Your original reservation was in an other Hotel and you was relocated in the Hotel Stendhal. Your room original reserved in the other Hotel was a double economic classic; but upon your arrive we offered a... More

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel. The service is outstanding, the check-in was swift and the room was very clean and tidy. There was daily room service which included towel change but there was also evening housekeeping, which would leave the room tidy again and the blinds and bed sheets ready to sleep - this is 5 stars service... We stayed 7 nights at this hotel. The location is very central and despite if being on a busy street, noise insulation is very good. Each room is well appointed with a/c and mini-bar. The rooms are small but comfortable. The staff is very helpful and willing to make your stay in Rome a special one. Breakfast is very nice... More

We had the most fantastic stay at Hotel Stendhal!! The rooms were exactly as pictured - clean, quiet, comfortable bed and excellent excellent AC (very important when visiting Rome at the end of July). It's in a good location - just steps away from a metro stop and from some absolutely fantastic restaurants (#31 on trip advisor. Don't miss it!)... More

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2015

Our room was small but perfect for two. Staff was attentive and courteous, rooms were comfortable and clean, and the complimentary breakfast was satisfying. Located in the Piazza Barberini it is walking distance to the Trev Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, and Via de Condotti. Plenty of great restaurants at nearby Via Veneto. If you prefer not to walk,... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
