Our room was small but perfect for two. Staff was attentive and courteous, rooms were comfortable and clean, and the complimentary breakfast was satisfying. Located in the Piazza Barberini it is walking distance to the Trev Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, and Via de Condotti. Plenty of great restaurants at nearby Via Veneto. If you prefer not to walk,... More

This is a nice appearing smallish, boutique-like hotel near the Spanish Steps. The rooms are nice, but small. The bed was low and the mattress had seen better days. The TV was about a 20 inch cathode ray tube type, no flat screen. The soap and shampoo provided were small in quantity and of low quality, like Motel 6 used... More

This hotel is in a great location and the staff was friendly. The room was small but comfortable and was fine for the two of us. The free breakfast was a nice bonus and worked out great for us. Housekeeping did a very nice job keeping the room tidy throughout the day.

This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel and on my next visit to Rome I'll immediately book here again--no searching necessary. First off, the location can't be beat--you're steps away from the Barberini Metro stop and there's a city bus and tour bus stop right there as well, but when you set out on foot you're so... More

Our travel agent recommended it. I love that guy! Clean spacious room with comfortable bed. Wonderful service, Close to everything and great restaurants right across the street. Breakfast is excellent and the coffee? Wow! Enjoying our stay!

My husband and I stayed here last week for four nights. The staff was very helpful and even had a room for us upon our early arrival at 9:00 am. The breakfast was a very satisfying way to start off each day. We loved that the hotel had a nightly, turn down service. We had a front facing room and,... More

We found a gem late March in Rome. I'd like to keep it a personal secret, but its too good to hide! Hotel Stendhal consist of really of two hotels: the traditional Hotel Stendhal on Via del Triton which is really nice, but around the corner they have the new Annex Suites, opened in December 2014. The Annex Suites is... More

This was the first stop in Italy for my husband and I. We arrived quite early, about 8am and our room was ready shortly after, which we were appreciative of. The location of the hotel is great. It's a short walk from the Spanish Steps, and close to one of the Metro stations. The room we stayed in was quite... More

We stayed here just two nights after returning from Tuscany and before returning home to the U.S. The rooms in our suite were well-appointed and spotlessly clean. The staff was highly attentive, and the location quite central to many points of interest. Highly recommended.

We just checked in. A week ago we stayed at another hotel in Rome, paid a decent amount more, and had similar problems to the ones reported negatively below. Old European hotels are quirky even at greatest prices. For the cost, the place is wonderfully spacious, the staff is friendly and responsive and breakfast is included. We looked far and... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
