Saying one word Taormina is a monument of history. Beautifully situated village divided into old and new Taormina. The narrowest alley has 40 cm! Worth seeing: Greek theater, the castle, shops with marzipan, cathedral.

We stayed for 4 nights and the hotel gave us everything we needed. Based on previous reviews we decided to ask for a room overlooking the courtyard and with air con (paid a little extra for this) as the weather was still in the mid-late 20s at night. Bear in mind there is an Italian tourist tax of €3 per... More

Just got back from a 4 night trip in Rome. Hotel was clean, tidy and quiet. We paid extra for air con as it was extremely hot. Staff were helpful when needed and we had no issues at all. Nearest metro station is only a 2-3min walk away and the main station in Rome is only 1 stop away. Colosseum... More

Currently staying in the Taormina, as this is mine and my gf's last night of four. The staff are extremely pleasant and very helpful with providing information about the city. The location is also fantastic as it is literally a 5/10 minute walk from the Termini. There is also a supermarket at the end of the road (which is very... More

The hotel was well placed for the metro, bus station and trams. Breakfast was a choice of bread roll, bread roll or more bread roll or a croissant plus various spreads and teas and coffee. Aircon and wifi are available at an extra cost. The staff were friendly and pleasant.

Clean and spacious rooms. Welcoming staff. Budget friendly. Close to the main train station (Termini) and public transport. The breakfast was better than expected (as I read lots of awful things about hotel breakfasts in Rome). When staying at Taormina, make sure to visit G. Fassi, an ice cream vendor in the same street with a large, delicious and cheap... More

Clean, contemporary room walking distance from Termini. We asked for a quiet room and received one. Typical Italian breakfast: rolls, croissants, juice and coffee. Accommodating staff. But the real treat was being a 30 second walk to G.Fassi. Roma's beloved gelateria!

We booked a 3 night trip to Rome. Chose this as near to Termini station, and colosseum and Trevi walkable with good shoes! We were in refurbished room at back so it was quiet . 24 hour reception which was good as we didn't arrive until 11.30pm. Twin beds . A bit hard but comfy. Paid €5 a night for... More

Visited this hotel for the second time and was not disappointed again, great budget hotel in the centre of Rome near transport links. Staff very helpful, even those with limited English, breakfast basic but filling, rooms clean and good size.

great room obviously recently decorated.Helpful reception especially Rita who was a treasure. We did not have any problems with the area and everything we wanted to see was within alking distance. The Trattoria over the road owned by Roger was reasonably priced excellent food and a delight. The only downside was the bathroom was a little small .We would definately stay here... Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
