I booked through Groupon for a 2 city trip so I didn't choose the hotel. While you are a good walk from the heart of Rome you are only a couple blocks from the Metro to get to everything. While the neighborhood seemed sketchy, it was ok. Pros: friendly service. Windows are near sound proof. Very close to metro station.... More

The hotel location : was great 2 min walk from vittorio emanuel metro station and a 15 min walk from rome termini , on an ideal location where you can reach all of the landmarks via bus or tramway or even strolling down the streets. The staff : are friendly and met our needs whenever we asked for it Clean:... More

The hotel is located one block from the Vittorio E Metro stop. The Metro gives you easy access to most of Rome's Major attractions. The hotel is very clean. Our room is well appointed and comfortable. There is easy access to good restaurants. The reception is on the second floor. Fabulous Ice Cream Shop down the street.

I stayed at Taormina as part of a package holiday in late April for 4 nights. I also travelled as a single person, so my review is written from that perspective. Firstly the hotel is very convenient to find, just 300m from Vittorio Emmanule tube station, which is only one stop from Termini. This puts you in a great spot... More

The Taormina Hotel is located a few blocks southeast of the Termini Train Station and a block from the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and the Vittorio Emanuele metro stop. It is also a few doors down from Fassi, an awesome gelato place. While I felt very safe walking in the neighborhood, the location is not that great and the walk... More

we stayed in Taormina in two nights. The room we got for first night was very tiny , and the next day we changed it to larger with better bathroom. The rooms were veeery clean, the staff very nice. Breakfast was included, liked espresso. Overall , a pleasant experience !

Arrived in Rome close to midnight, the walk from Termini station was pretty straightforward with just our carry on luggage, it took about 15-20 minutes. Beware the station at night is filled with quite a lot of homeless and shifty people so walk briskly and keep to your group. We arrived at the hotel entrance to be greeted by a... More

Great hotel for the budget conscious visitors/tourists. Conveniently located at the center of the city. Ground transportation, trams, buses, run right across the street to take you to the Termini train station. Hope on Metro Victorio which is less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel to get to other metro stations close to the Vatican, Spanish stairs, Trevi fountain,... More

I booked a package through Go-Today.com. Six nights in hotel, airfare, single supplement and shuttle from and to airport for a grand total of $1301, so I can't complain too much. The reception desk is up two flights of stairs - however, they heard me struggling with getting my bag up the stairs and a man immediately came to help... More

Found this hotel to be too far out for us as my husband is disabled and it was not easy to use public transport. Breakfast was not very good only juice tea or coffee 3 bread buns and jams. Did not like to go far on an evening as we felt uncomfortable in the area and it is badly lit.... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
