Needing a cheap motel in a good location we took a risk with taormina. It was no risk. The staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. All able to speak English. Nothing too much trouble. Even 2 cappuccinos made by the manager for breakfast included with the juice, rolls etc. The room simple but clean, adequate and and comfortable. Highly recommended. A... More

We spent 4 night in this hotel and we are completely satisfied with it. Very clean and quiet room. We would have rated 5 stars if there were more choices available for the breakfast. Furthermore from our booking it was not clear that we had to pay 1 euro/day extra to have WIFI internet connection...but at least the connection was... More

Very good hotel only thing wrong is the breakfast, it's very basic.our room was very spacious. There is no iron available in the hotel . But you got a hairdryer. Staff very friendly and helpful. There is a safe in the room . Don't forget to save some cash for the tax per day , payable at end of stay

Good points: Easy 10-15 minute walk to find from Termini with a big sign on the building Friendly staff Clean Nice decor - our room was dark wood furniture and dark blue paint with draping curtains Quiet Bad points: Hard bed Tiny shower which you could not bend down in and I'm a small person- would have been impossible for... Ideally situated around 15 minutes away by foot from the Colloseum and about 5 minutes away from the train station, this safe, clean and efficient hotel is a good choice on a low budget. Please keep in mind the star rating of the hotel. The mattresses on the beds are a little stiff, there was no A/C in the room... More

This hotel was supposed to be an upgrade from another hotel outside the city center. Arrived at the hotel and the bed was as hard as a rock. We didn't ask for a handicap room but that's what we got. Funky super tall toilet, and a strange movable shower stall that is about 2-1/2' tall that allows water to spray... More

Was organised by my partner who planed everything. Hotel was nice and quiet and was very clean. Never had a problem, although you have to pay for Air Con (5 euros a Night). Staff were friendly and chatty. If looking for a hotel out of the way its perfect. Metrolink is across the street more or less, It takes a... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
