Clean and spacious rooms. Welcoming staff. Budget friendly. Close to the main train station (Termini) and public transport. The breakfast was better than expected (as I read lots of awful things about hotel breakfasts in Rome). When staying at Taormina, make sure to visit G. Fassi, an ice cream vendor in the same street with a large, delicious and cheap... More

Clean, contemporary room walking distance from Termini. We asked for a quiet room and received one. Typical Italian breakfast: rolls, croissants, juice and coffee. Accommodating staff. But the real treat was being a 30 second walk to G.Fassi. Roma's beloved gelateria!

We booked a 3 night trip to Rome. Chose this as near to Termini station, and colosseum and Trevi walkable with good shoes! We were in refurbished room at back so it was quiet . 24 hour reception which was good as we didn't arrive until 11.30pm. Twin beds . A bit hard but comfy. Paid €5 a night for... More

Visited this hotel for the second time and was not disappointed again, great budget hotel in the centre of Rome near transport links. Staff very helpful, even those with limited English, breakfast basic but filling, rooms clean and good size.

great room obviously recently decorated.Helpful reception especially Rita who was a treasure. We did not have any problems with the area and everything we wanted to see was within alking distance. The Trattoria over the road owned by Roger was reasonably priced excellent food and a delight. The only downside was the bathroom was a little small .We would definately stay here... We had read the different reviews for this hotel and, were very dissapointed when we arrived. We weren' expecting a lot, just a descent hotel for a couple of days but, this was less than the worst review we read. To start location. Trashy is a nice way to put it. Trash everywhere, the graffiti we ignored since it seemed... More

Read some of the reviews on here after I'd booked the hotel, so I was a little nervous when I read the bad ones, especially as I was with my 16 yr old son. The area was lively and bustling with some really good restaurants within walking distance, I never felt worried about walking in the area at night, and... More

After reading a couple of mixed reviews about the hotel, I was a bit sceptical but was a good surprise! Hotel was easy enough to find then was really nice and modern inside. Staff were very nice and always happy to help. Great location as well, can walk places or the metro stop is very close. Our room was big... More

If not for Rita, the receptionist, this hotel would receive an ok review from me but she is such a darling and makes the entire experience in this hotel excellent. She helped me out in regards to my accommodation and was very helpful in making me feel very welcome. The rooms are clean and very good, though a bit dark.... More

Recommended by a friend, this hidden gem was a great, affordable find! Large, contemporary rooms and a great breakfast included. Buy a metro pass for the day or week at the front desk. Use it to access the trolley (just out the front door), the buses or the subway ( two blocks down).

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
