We stayed in middle of summer when Rome is packed with tourists (like us!) but really enjoyed the fact that it was located in a place where you could interact mostly with locals. We were 2 couples and walking at night freely was enjoyable. We even found a traditional Sicilian bar and mingled with the people there who were vey... More

The room was dirty - full of dust, even the drawer we found glasses of the previous guests. When we arrived we did not get towels and we had to ask several times. Room key did not work. Hardly changed towels and cleaned the room. Even once the cleaning lady came into the room without knocking while we were there.... More

Mercure Roma Piazza Bologna is an unassuming hotel located within 5 mins of walking distance from the Bologna metro station which is well connected to Termini, Colosseo and Spagna metro stations. So, famous tourist landmarks such as the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps are easily accessible. The property is well maintained, the rooms are cosy, comfortable and well... More

No distinguished treatment, no real courtesy to guests (except for some empty verbal gestures). They asked me to pay breakfast in cash, right on the spot, even if I was a Gold member. In other words, it seems, even Gold members are considered potential thieves until they let their credit cards preauthorized, even for petty additional expenses. Not too polite.... More

This is a business class hotel similar to Holiday Inn Express or Courtyard by Marriott. Clean, safe, comfortable with a decent breakfast, bar, and excellent free internet service in the room and lobby. Very convenient to the metro and buses. Not in a tourist area, but you are only about 10 minutes away using public transport.

I stayed there for a night and it's really good for that: 3min walking to Piazza Bologna subway station and 1 stop to University (and 3 stops to the Colosseum). I didn't have breakfast so cannot comment.

We had a really great stay at the Mercure. It was an excellent location, 5-10 minute walk from Piazza Bologna subway station. Only a short cab ride from the Termini train station. There are many great restaurants, cafes, gelateria, and deli's nearby the hotel. The reception staff were more than happy to point out numerous options for us on the... More

It took for me some time to place in proper order thinkings and impressions of stay in this hotel and evaluate it correctly. The choice of this particular hotel for our Rome family trip was based on following criterious: international hotel chain/brand, availability of triple family rooms, to be placed not on tourist tracks, but in the meantime having proper...
