Staff was friendly, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable for us and we were told that all of the beds were the same. Like seriously I felt the springs in my back. Wifi was decent. Older decor and not much light in our room. Bathroom was okay, but shower was awkward getting in and out. We did not eat the... More

It was close to all things, both train station, Colloseum, restaurants, shops etc. The room had a great size and the staff was friendly. BUT: You could hear the traffic outside (even with earplugs), the breakfast I'd rather not eat and it wasn't even at the hotel but at a bar up the street (with almost no tables), the bed... More

Nazional Rooms is a good place for young budget couples. The location is just perfect - near the train station Termini and walking distance to almost every main attraction in the city. Used the subway only 2 times for 4 days. The breakfast was very nice - cappuccino, juice and croissant. The staff was helpful and gave us free maps.... More

I couldn't agree more with the last 2 reviews. This b&b is awful! Uncomfortable beds, noisy rooms, and stale reheated pastries for breakfast. Do not be fooled by the online pictures/representation of these rooms because I'm sure that these pics where taken elsewhere. This is a 1 star accommodation charging 3 times what it is worth!

Terrible. Just terrible. We stayed for one night. We were meant to stay for 5 but we bailed straight away. The staff were unhelpful and seemed to not care about our concerns. Not only were the rooms terrible, the beds were uncomfortable and the shower nearly unusable. To make matters worse, I got stuck in their tiny elevator for more... More

The above advise you can take or not but I would like to let you know our experience. We arrived at 3.00pm in the afternoon and made our way from the train station (15 min walk) and to the hotel. When we went to check in we were asked to sit down and wait for Manager instructions. When we finally... More

Stayed here for 10 days for a solo trip to Italy in their "Private Room". This was the best place I found for price (around $44 USD per nt), location, and reviews based on the website I used to book. Room was small, but had a bathroom, fridge, desk, 24" television, a bed that was somewhat narrower than your single... More

Very good location with breakfast in nearby cafe. Internet not accessible in all rooms. Hallway occasionally was full of cigarette smoke. Safe did not work. Provided safe key also did not work properly in effect on the departure day and staff not available key broke. They charge me around 90 euro for opening safe and sending my valuables.

We stayed for week, entire holiday including flights, transfers, hotel etc cost £270 pp. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Location is right on the 64 bus route which gets you most places. Termini (the main bus station) is a 5min walk, free maps at the hotel. A weeks bus ticket for all of Rome 24€ and... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
