I chose this hotel for three reasons (1) location, (2) air conditioning, and (3) having an internet connection. The hotel's web site notes that every room has air conditioning and an internet connection. The hotel has NO internet connections in ANY room. The receptionist noted that each room has a phone jack, from which you can "connect" to the internet.... more

The Hotel Marconi is placed wonderfully round the corner from the train station and therefore also within just a few minutes walk to Rome's tube system. The room was ok, a little small but generally pleasant enough, although it could have been a little cleaner. The staff were not polite, and didn't really seem to have much time for guests.... more

We stayed for 5 nights in the Marconi in August 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. If you have money to spare you would probably prefer to stay somewhere more central as the termini area is a bit "rough", although not half as bad as some people have described and I never felt unsafe. We booked with Hotel Connect and got... more

Stayed on a one night break en route to elsewhere. Hotel was clean, beds comfortable, aircon good and even though we were on the first floor excellent double glazing blocked out any traffic noise. Having been to Rome a couple of times before I was a bit dubious about staying so close to the station but there was no need... more

Me and my husband went a small get-away break to Rome and stayed at the Marconi Hotel in Rome city centre. The rooms are small there - but thats standard in the city centre. The room was clean and basic. We spent all day out sight-seeing. It was lovely. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. We think we... more

For a 3 star hotel the Marconi was very good. Very clean, good size rooms with a safe in the room which is a must in Rome so you can leave some money/credit cards behind when you go out for the day. Was concerned about some of the reports of noise and the Terminii area being rough but the hotel... more

We've just returned from a four night stay at the Marconi Hotel in Rome and was well impressed with the interior of this 3 star establishment. The staff were very courtious and very helpful with everything and also spoke very good english. The hotel has been recently decorated and has around 40 rooms covering the first two floors of the... more

Great Hotel, excellent location. Very good breakfast (meats, cheeses, cereal, eggs, juices, bakery items etc.), immaculate room and bath with a private safe in room. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. more

You wouldn't want to have this as a base of operations in my opinion as the neigborhood is pretty gross and traffic and constant car horns (like 30 blowing all at the same time) are kind of annoying. We found it perfect though though to come in from Cinque Terre in the evening as the train station is a block... more

My friends & I stayed at the Marconi for 4 nights. Both rooms were very nice, well appointed & very clean. The breakfasts were adequate, just make sure you dont go late! The only down side in my opinion is the area. The hotel is opposite Termini rail station & whilst it is central for buses, trains etc, the area... more
