5 star hotel but had recently been taken over and poor or unavailable facilities not known before arrival. Roof terrace, closed and was a building site. Spa useless as all water and jacuzzi freezing, nowhere to change so had to come from room down escalator in trunks. No ironing facility and would have to pay to have it done. No... More

From the moment we walked into Aleph Hotel, we were treated like superior guests - all staff were very friendly and accommodating to our every need. Vivienne at the desk walked us up to our room and showed us where and how to get to all attractions. The hotel is undergoing a reno due to new management, but this did... More

My partner arranged a surprise trip to Rome for my 30th birthday and we stayed at the aleph from 14-18 May. We are both pretty hard to please but we both adore the hotel and are planning to come back next year. There is some refurb going on but to be honest it didn't really affect us especially as we... We went for our good friends 50th birthday and were apprehensive prior to arriving as I'd read some pretty negative comments on Trip Advisor. However, our fears of the hotel being a complete shambles couldn't have been further from the truth. Yes the hotel is receiving a facelift, but the hotel staff couldn't have been any better! We received complimentary... More

I stayed here with family this past week while visiting Rome, and we thought the hotel was great. I think people are being a little harsh on here. The hotel is currently under renovation, but they've done a good job of keep all the "dust" in contained areas. As far as I knew, they are refurbishing part of the lobby... More

We've just returned from a stay at the Aleph. It's undergoing renovations, which it needs in certain areas. However, the staff were extremely polite and helpful. The decor is, er, intense...red leather and piano black may not be everybody's cup of tea but like it or not, it grabs your attention. Buffet breakfast was good. We were upgraded to a... More

We stayed at this hotel during our honeymoon for four nights. The front desk greeted us and welcomed us with a bottle of champagne and we were informed that we had been "upgraded" to a better room. I would hate to see what our original room was because the "upgraded" room was old, worn out, and deteriorating. Tiles were coming... More

I had the chance to stay at this hotel on a business trip 5/6 years ago and had good memories of it. I returned this week end in Rome for a 2-days trip with my wife and was more than disappointed. The hotel changed management and is under-going heavy renovation for approximately 1 year. No early warning of this, no... More

Located on a nice cobbled street, walking distance from the Barberini, trevi fountain subway, and a block from US embassy, the hotel opens to 2 larger than life sized Japanese samurai warrior statues, so dominant you miss the marble lions just outside the doors encased in glass. Red & black lacquer is the dominant color as you enter and off... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
