We chose this hotel because we only had one night in Rome. It's located two short blocks to Termini train station and we reserved using an app that finds hotel deals for the same day which gave us an amazing rate. It's a budget hotel located on the 3rd floor of what feels like a shared office building. Upon arrival... More

The hotel is humid and has a horrible smell. It smells horrible. It is also in a really bad part of town. There are way more better hotels than this at an even cheaper rate. I would really not recommend it to anyone.

They showed a lack of respect towards my family. The breakfast is terrible. The hotel is located in a single floor and the rooms are too small for even one person. Should at least be a good service for such a small hotel. The air conditioning in my room wasn't cooling and we were at 40 degrees celsius. When I... More

I booked this place kind of last minute due to it's proximity to Termini Station and central Rome. I heard all sorts of dubious things about the neighborhood and pickpockets but coming from NYC originally and having eyes on the back of my head, I wasn't too worried. The place was easy to find - so with a lot of... More

Excellent service; in the centre of everything. Excellent reference for dinner. We were only in Rome for one night. Arrived and left by train so the location was perfect. Had a good sleep and a good breakfast.

We stayed in the Marco Polo Hotel this year June 2015. We booked a double room and was more than happy with it. Spotlessly clean and the bathroom well equipped plenty of clean towels etc. The breakfast consisted of a variety of foods I.e. cereals, toast, jams, meats etc and plenty of tea, coffee and juices. You could have as... More

Stayed here for a weekend in June 2015, the location beside termini is a great positive but that is the only positive for this hotel I am afraid. You may not be aware but this hotel is sharing an old building with several other hotels so this hotel is on the third floor. The first impression of a cadged elevator... More

Dear Mr Cian O' Donoghue, Thank you for your prompt reply. We are pleased to know that you have appreciated our location but i regret to ascertain so much frustration. Anyway i'm pleased to remind you and to clarify the following: - In Rome is usual to find even 4 stars hotels on a floor because there are historical buildings... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Marco Polo hotel in February, earlier this year. Since we are studying, and have a tight budget, we were looking for something affordable, which nonetheless had the class, charm, comfort and cleanliness that would make our stay an enjoyable one. It was also very important to us that we remain close to Rome's... More

Excellent location near Termini which is the central train station. The rooms and toilets are very clean and fully renovated. The staff is friendly and really helpful. Breakfast is decent. Enjoyed my time there

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
