Staff are very polite and helpful. Room was clean and of a reasonable size with adequate storage for clothes. We had a problem with the washand basin plug it was fixed within a few hours. There is a very good safe provided free of charge. Beds were clean and comfortable. Shower was a little tempermental, water changing from hot to... More

The hotel is reached by an ancient lift but nice reception we had a room just off the reception. Your not paying for 5 star bur room clean. Down side hoards os school kids running up and down corridors at all hours teachers oblivious. 1 small irate English woman telling them off brought peace. Free dinner from hotel as apology... More

A reasonable price for a convenient location next to Termini. The neighborhood is not that nice, but it was a good point to explore Rome. Good breakfast, and good sleep, so was a good selection for the trip.

We chose this hotel because we only had one night in Rome. It's located two short blocks to Termini train station and we reserved using an app that finds hotel deals for the same day which gave us an amazing rate. It's a budget hotel located on the 3rd floor of what feels like a shared office building. Upon arrival... More

The hotel is humid and has a horrible smell. It smells horrible. It is also in a really bad part of town. There are way more better hotels than this at an even cheaper rate. I would really not recommend it to anyone.

They showed a lack of respect towards my family. The breakfast is terrible. The hotel is located in a single floor and the rooms are too small for even one person. Should at least be a good service for such a small hotel. The air conditioning in my room wasn't cooling and we were at 40 degrees celsius. When I... More

I booked this place kind of last minute due to it's proximity to Termini Station and central Rome. I heard all sorts of dubious things about the neighborhood and pickpockets but coming from NYC originally and having eyes on the back of my head, I wasn't too worried. The place was easy to find - so with a lot of... More

Excellent service; in the centre of everything. Excellent reference for dinner. We were only in Rome for one night. Arrived and left by train so the location was perfect. Had a good sleep and a good breakfast.

We stayed in the Marco Polo Hotel this year June 2015. We booked a double room and was more than happy with it. Spotlessly clean and the bathroom well equipped plenty of clean towels etc. The breakfast consisted of a variety of foods I.e. cereals, toast, jams, meats etc and plenty of tea, coffee and juices. You could have as... More

Stayed here for a weekend in June 2015, the location beside termini is a great positive but that is the only positive for this hotel I am afraid. You may not be aware but this hotel is sharing an old building with several other hotels so this hotel is on the third floor. The first impression of a cadged elevator... More

Dear Mr Cian O' Donoghue, Thank you for your prompt reply. We are pleased to know that you have appreciated our location but i regret to ascertain so much frustration. Anyway i'm pleased to remind you and to clarify the following: - In Rome is usual to find even 4 stars hotels on a floor because there are historical buildings... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
