Location is close to Coliseum and Forum area, as well as metro. Lots of restaurants and gelato places nearby. Great for a short stay. Rooms were clean, even provide slippers and robes! Service was so friendly and helpful. Its on a busy street, close to weekend nightlife, so if you are expecting a quiet neighborhood then this location may not... More

This is perfect if you want a few days in the heart of ancient Rome - about 300 metres from the Colosseum and the Markets of Trajan. REALLY helpful staff, good, clean rooms and a breakfast at the café next door.

Located only several mins walk from the Colloseo as well as other amazing sights. We found the closest metro (5 mins walk) was Cavour. It is only 25-30 mins on the metro to the Vatican. Surrounded by great restaurants and cafes. The decor was nice, the rooms clean and comfy. Our room was on the busy street side but we... More

My wife and I stayed at Locanda Colosseo in August of 2014. We didn't spend much time in our room as we were out and around all 3 days we spent in Rome. The rooms were decent size (for European standards) and overall very clean. The bathrooms were also very clean and modern. The breakfast was offered in a small... More

Right near the bottom of Via Cavour near the Post Office..look for a gold name plaque on the wall and ring the bell. The door opens up into a communal entrance of old marble stairs and a quaint lift..take either to the first floor and enter the hotel through the glass doors on the right. We had room 1 (cesare)... I really enjoyed my stay at the Locando Colosseo. It is perfectly well situated to some pretty key tourist destinations as well as to some great restaurants. My only regret is that I didn't get to spend more time in Rome to actually see these sight....such is the nature of a business trip

The Locanda Colosseo is a truly lovely Bed & Breakfast, clean, welcoming and ideally placed in Rome. I took my Mother on a surprise trip for her birthday and we have enjoyed every moment. The B&B is an easy 15 minute walk from the main train station (Termini) and 10 minutes from the Colosseo (where all the major sightseeing tour... More

This is by far the worst place that I have slept at since I was in the Navy, 40 years ago. My wife and I showed up to the address staring at a one foot by one foot plaque of the name and street number in back of four large garbage dumpsters. The stench from having garbage in them smelled... More

Dear Dwardrip, thank you very much for your stay with us and for having underlined a couple of our merits like the location and the kindness of our staff. We take always very seriously the critics and we take them as a point to improve our service. However, there is something I would like to say about the critics you... More

Great location ... me and a friend (both mid twenties) stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely time. Walking distance to most main attractions - we walked everywhere! Breakfast is out to a café next door (which was nice and quaint). Room was a good size, new towels and toiletries each day. Had a safe which was handy... More

Me and my two kids (8 and 10) enjoyed the stay here a lot. No problems at all! Friendly, clean, comfortable etc. So thank you, Locanda Colosseo. If and when we come to Rome again, we will check if you have free rooms.

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
