I visited Rome with my eldest Grandson as part his eighteenth birthday present. Our room was small but adequate and the beds were comfortable. Not that we would have noticed after a hard days sightseeing! The bathroom was clean and plenty of hot water.. The main reason to stay here is the position which was within easy walking distance of... More

Truthfully, we booked this hotel because it was reasonably priced. We weren't going to spend much time in the room, and we didn't, but it was totally fine. Not luxurious, but did the job and was clean. The hotel staff were very helpful as well. The hotel is well located, especially if you are arriving by train or car. You... More

I will start with a summary - This hotel is more of a 2 stars hotel rather than 3. To begin with, the "management photos" are deceptive. Seems like they are showing their best rooms and not the regular ones you would probably get. The hotel is old, our room was clean but tiny and not in the best condition:... More

While our room at Hotel Corona was nice we were a bit disappointed by some of the smaller aspects of the hotel. WiFi (which is advertised as a hotel amenity) was 10 Euros PER DEVICE and only worked in the lobby. Safe with the Safe. There were signs all over the hotel telling guests different rules they have to abide... More

I booked this hotel primarily for its proximity to the train station, as we had a morning train. Let's just say this hotel is very, very basic. Clean--which is the most important. Breakfast was very average, and I basically nibbled on some toast and left the rest. The beds were not real beds--more like thinner futon mattresses on a metal... More

This was my second stay at Hotel Corona, staying for nine nights in early June. My previous visit was in November 2014 (see review). I stayed in room 412 a standard single. These rooms are small but have a good sized bathroom. I can say my stay this time was better than last. For one thing I got to know... More

During my visit to Rome from 01/06 to 14/06/2015 I stayed at the Hotel Corona, via Napoli, Rome. The hotel was very good and my stay there was most comfortable. I was treated with courtesy and respect. The owner and management were fantastic and all spoke very good English which helped. The single room was quiet and very comfortable. All... More

The electric outlets in the room dont fit standard European plugs, they are old fashioned (3 prong). Front desk has no adapters. I have to charge my equipment in the bathroom which is the only modern plug in the room - this is inconvenient and unsafe for electronic equipment. Im not happy having to leave my laptop in the bathroom... More

The perfect location. 10 minute walk from Termini station, and walking distance to most of the tourist destinations. Yes, the room was small, but that's not unexpected when you're paying a reasonable room rate in a prime location. The room was well-maintained and clean -- that's important to me. I had read about noise issues on TripAdvisor, so I asked... More

We stayed in Rome during some really hot temperatures but were unable to adjust the air conditioning system sufficiently, as if the property were limiting how cool we could make our room. As with many hotels in Europe, the room was small, but the bathroom was a good size. Noise levels with our window open were not bad.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
