-Met the standards for a 3 star hotel. -Hotel was clean throughout (even during maintenance work on our first two days). -Bedroom was spacious, clean, quiet and air conditioned. -Poor Wi-Fi facilities. -All the staff were friendly and willing to help. -Breakfast wasn't too great, cold buffet only. -Fantastic location, all tourist attractions within walking distance (furthest walk was to... A very old building, with the words oldest and quirkiest elevator. Nice helpful staff on reception, and a short walk to the Spainish Steps. The rooms are on the small side, but not uncomfortable, and the bathroom is of a reasonable size. There is no safe in the rooms, you have to pay 5 euros for an A5 size envelope... More

This hotel is located in a fantastic spot. Really close to the Spanish steps and only 10 minutes walk to the Trevvi fountain. We couldn't fault the room itself which is spacious and airy (air con working but could be a bit more powerful) and clean. However, our shower location is right in the centre of the bath! (Who has... This hotel is in an excellent location! A 5-10min walk from barberini metro station, so it was very easy to get the metro to the Vatican and coliseum... It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the trevi fountain and 5-10 minute walk to the Spanish steps... The staff are lovely, polite and helpful. The wifi is chargeable unless it's included... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in August to see Rome before heading off to Sorrento. It is a quaint, old fashioned, charming hotel and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was good and the waitress was attentive and kind. Coffee excellent and the location was excellent as it was right near the Spanish steps. The concierge was helpful with bus... More

Just arrived back from our honeymoon, during which we stayed at the City Hotel in Rome's centre. They happened to be decorating for part of our stay, but they did everything they could to Make up for this and made us feel really special. This included the largest breakfasts in bed we've ever encountered. All the staff were really friendly,... More

Centrally located in Rome this hotel has allot to offer to the walking traveler to explore the history and culture. Since it is older, there are areas within the room in need of repair such as the flooring and walls. But not so much to deter one from staying there. The staff was pleasant and when asked recommendations about local... More

We stayed here as part of a Italy tour and it was our final stop. The hotel is charming and in a fantastic location. The staff are very helpful and make you feel welcome. The room was perfect for what we needed- quiet, despite being so close to so many attractions with a good sized bathroom. Plenty of bars and... More

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in July. When we first arrived we had trouble finding the way into a hotel as the reception is on the second floor.. The hotel is in a fabulous location a few minutes walk from the Spanish steps and near the shopping area. We had a small but perfectly adequate room with... More

A fantastic location between the Trevie Fountain and the Spanish Steps, also close to the Rome Metro line. The hotel is quite old in terms of its decoration and furnishing. However the bedroom was large, well lit, and airy and the bathroom was adequate although there were problems with water draining away from the shower/bath. Breakfast was poor - a... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
