Linda and Steve were quick to respond to my enquiry for accommodation. I stayed one night at Clover and found the rooms very clean, airy and spacious albeit a bit bare. Room 1 had no AC though so it was quite hot at night. The shared bathrooms were spotless. Overall good value. I then spent three nights in the dorms... More

Rome is an expensive place to visit. This was about the cheapest option we could find, but it didn't feel cheap! We stayed two nights in the dorms, which were quiet, clean, secure, and had plenty of shared bathroom spaces for everyone. Then we took a short trip away, during which the staff kindly stored our big luggage in a... More

It was so nice to arrive and Rome and to walk right around the corner from the Termini train station and be at our hotel. The Beehive Hotel is an oasis in the middle of bustling Rome. It’s the kind of place that you feel at home in as soon as you walk in. Our room was very clean, well... More

Steve and Linda are incredible hosts. The hotel is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There's good WiFi and a little cafe. Lovely outdoor seating. Definitely the best deal in Rome. I stay here every time I go to Rome. It's also just 2 blocks from the termini, making it incredibly convenient.

This place is FANTASTIC! Clean, modern, safe conveniently located, wonderful staff, great food, great recommendations. Everything you need and more in a hotel/guesthouse. Steve and Linda provided practical advice for travelling around Rome and both have wonderful dispositions. I will be recommending this place to everyone who travels to Rome. Thank you both for making my stay so wonderful and... More

We saw good reviews about The Beehive and decided to try that for our trip to Rome last year. The rooms were bigger than we expected. We stayed in one of the bedrooms within an apartment. The sitting room was cosy and kitched had everything you would need for making breakfast. Stable wifi connection. It's very to close to the... More

My wife and I stayed at the Beehive for 3 days in mid April. Although bathrooms and showers are located just down the hall the guest soon finds that it ain't about the bathroom location at all, it's really about the personality of this particular hotel. To us it seemed to be a collection point for travelers who were interesting... More

This was our first visit to Rome and The Beehive was a perfect choice. The location was great, so near the Termini station. the location was easy to find. So helpful to have English speaking staff while adjusting to a new city. Steve, the owner, often works the front desk and is a wealth of information about the history, culture... More

My sister and I stayed at this hostel for one night in April 2015, and had a great experience. We had an evening flight into the airport, so by the time we'd got the train and arrived at the hostel it was close to 10pm. Location was really short walking distance from the train station, but in a quiet neighbourhood... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
