I rented two of the Beehive apartments (Millefiori and Clover) for a nine-day study trip in Rome. We were a group of twelve from a major American university. The apartments worked well for our purposes and I will be renting them again this year for a similar group. The apartments were charming and delightful, but on a modest scale. Millefiori,... more

I am 29 and i have wanted to visit rome for about 8 years now! After planning, saving, and more planning I finally got the chance in oct. 2009...Almost from the get go, the beehive was my number one pick after reading many reviews and contacting linda about oh...a few dozen times! We made a reservation at the Beehive after hearing it was one of the best hostels in Rome. When we got there, the desk attendant informed us that they were out of rooms and would have to put us up in an apartment they maintain in the city. We were upset and protested, but the desk attendant rudely told us... more

As the owners of The Beehive, we were very upset to read this review. We were able to look up the reservation, and it appears that this person inquired over the phone the day before their arrival - they did not have a previously confirmed reservation. They were offered a room in one of our apartments as an alternative since...

Just got back to the states yesterday and happened to read Tripadvisor today. After reading one less-than-happy review, I have to submit my experience to let others know the real deal. First of all, the location is excellent, and the easiest directions to the hotel are once you get in the galleria from your train, turn right and go out... more

I just stayed in the dorm for a week and I really had an excellent experience there. At first the thought of a dorm is kind of strange to someone who has always been in hotels but I was happily surprised at how nice the dorm was. One thing I can say-- it is kind of up to chance whether... more

We stayed at one of the apartments of the Beehive for 2 nights in October. My friend booked the place, and I wasn't really keen on sharing a bathroom, but luckily for us there were never too many people waiting for the bathroom, and the bathroom itself was very clean, so in the end there was no drama. Bright and... more

A friend and I stayed in both a private room and dorm during our stay at the Beehive, both were clean and tidy however as a 26 year old female I felt a little uncomfortable sharing a dorm with men in their 50s (I was aware that this was not a youth hostel so not the Beehive's fault!) If I... more

We stayed at Clover apartment and as stated before the area is a bit dodgy. I had selected it because it is close to termini -which it was. It was very convenient to go to all the attaractions and also to the Ciampino airport early in the morning. There is a covered vegetable market very close. They sell very good... more

I stayed in the dorm rooms for my 1st night. It was the first time I was stayed in a dorm and I was nervous, however as soon as i arrived i soon forgot my worries. The staff were friendly and the room was immaculately clean. All the other guests were lovely. I ate in the cafe and had a... more

We were a mother-daughter (ages 62 & 32) doing Italy in two weeks and started our stay in the Beehive's Millefiore apartment for three nights and spent our last night in Rome at the actual hotel. Millefiore Apartment - three-bedroom apartment, we rented Room 1 and other residents were 3 friends from Singapore and a couple from Northern California. The... more
