I recently stayed at the Clover an offsite property owned and operated by the Beehive. The property is centrally located a block away from the Rome's central train station (Area around train station can be a bit seedy i.e prostitution and drug dealers). The property was clean and well maintained although it was a bit cold at night and the... More

I recently stayed at the Beehive. The hostel is in a very central area just a block away from Termini rail station. This is not a 4 stars hotel, but the rooms and the facilities are very clean and comfortable. I would definitely say you get good value for your money. The staff were very friendly and happy to help.... More

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Beehive. I was travelling solo and I had no trouble meeting people at the hostel. It's not a 'party' hostel, it's comfortable and a good place to re-charge and relax. The owners were lovely and very helpful. The breakfast is also amazing! Definitely recommend a stay here.

I was given a room in the "Clover" apartments as I booked a private room. Unfortunately since it was a quiet time of the year I didn't get to meet too many people there, but the apartment was beautifully kept, well equipped and in a great location. Very close to the central train station. The staff at the Beehive were... More

The Beehive has a central location just a few minutes walk from Termini Station. Seemed a little overpriced as really an enhanced hostel. Breakfast not included and no airport shuttle. But clean rooms and staff were friendly and knowlegeable. A little further out of the downtown we got a very nice hotel room with breakfast for just a small amount... More

My son and I just returned from our visit to Italy and stayed at The Beehive for 5 nights. The accommodations are perfect for the no fuss traveler and were what I had expected for the price. It was clean and met all of our needs. It is a great location - only minutes walking distance from the train station.... More

Dear Kellysis6, Thanks for your review and I'm glad you had a good stay! It's true that sound does travel in our place and even though we don't attract (or tolerate) party animals and most guests are respectful and try not to make noise, some people are a bit disruptive at times and it can be hard to manage. The beehive has many things going for it. The location is great, right in heart of the city, a small walk to the Roma Termini. The hosts are very helpful, unassuming and responsible. The dorms are basic but the hostel is quiet and still worth stay.

This was my fourth stay at the Beehive. I was in the Clover apartments, and I agree with all the glowing reviews re: cleanliness, friendliness and location. Honestly would recommend this place to everyone, whether the main site or the off-site apartments, it's all fantastic. But by far the best thing after long days stomping on Rome's cobblestones was the... More

We stayed at the Beehive for two nights, then another three nights (after a two day trip to Napoli). We thoroughly enjoyed both stays. We booked a four person room for our family (two adults, two children). Shared bath, which was no issue at all. Does not include breakfast, but there is a breakfast spot in the basement. Delicious but... More

I stayed two nights in 'The Beehive' after reading so many good comments about it. We booked a room with separate bedrooms but shared bathroom. I imagined a trendy, friendly space in the middle of Rome but none of this was true. First of all the people behind the reception weren't warm at all. They weren't rude, but I did... More

Dear Flo Ann L, I'm very sorry you didn't enjoy your stay with us. Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
