Stayed for two nights July 2014. Stayed in the "Sweets" which is around the corner from the main hotel. Had an non-ensuite bathroom which was fine with us. Towels were provided as well really nice soap and shampoo. Air conditioning, which was greatly needed, was an extra €10 per night. Room is clean but spartan. Had a little balcony with... More

An OK stay but nothing more... We were hoping for more of a "hostel" feel, maybe meet other travelers and get some advice from the staff. However, very small and uninviting common area, very quiet (and strange?) staff who answered our questions but didn't go a way to make us feel comfortable... We left with mixed feelings because the room... More

Dear Elad_Livne, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay with us. You stayed in our Sweets rooms for 1 night. The Sweets are in their own separate annex and do have a small sitting and kitchenette area. It is indeed a quieter space. At The Beehive, we have 2 other larger common areas - our garden and inside in our... More

We stayed here while visiting for a cycling event. It is a fun, hip little place with nice basic rooms. Many places in Singapore are very small. The beehive has rooms that are normal size, not large by international standards but good sized by Singapore standards. The staff are friendly and the place is spotless.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this bohemian hostel this past week for the famous Ferragosto holidays, we stayed in Rome for a weekend before heading to another vacation destination (we base in florence). What first came to mind about the beehive was the location, very close to the main railway station and metro line, termini, which while... More

The Beehive was an absolute sanctuary from the sometimes oppressive, high-pace tourist-bussle of Rome. The location was second-to-none, maybe a 1 minute walk to Termini station (which links you to both airports, international trains, and both the subway networks in Rome), a 20 minute walk to the Colosseum and minutes away from fantastic restaurants, while feeling really tucked away and... We stayed in The Sweets apartments around the corner from the main hostel for two nights. It was a very pleasant stay. There is wifi in the common area of the apartment. It didnt work too well in the room. It is clean and very homely and welcoming. It is only two blocks from the train station and the subway... More

Overall great value for hostel. Their was a screw-up in my reservation which was finally cancelled and the receptionist resolved this quickly and gave us a room without a problem. Loved the eco friendly feel of the Beehive, with handmade organic soap in the rooms and high quality body and shampoo in the showers. Room smelled good :) The little... More

We stayed in Rome for 3 nights and this was in a good location close enough to train station to walk. Not close to many other sights but we took the subway. We did not find any great places to eat close by, so be prepared to walk a lot ! Staff was very helpful.

Probably one of the best hostels we have stayed in. Very clean and accommodating. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Not your typical hostel and would be great for families, individuals or couples travelling on a budget. Definitely would recommend this hostel.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Beehive is a stylish, budget, eco-conscious hotel/hostel owned by an American couple, Linda & Steve, who came to Rome to follow a dream. In 1999 we packed up our apartment in Los Angeles and, along with our 2 cats moved to Rome and opened The Beehive, a unique cross between a budget hotel and an upscale hostel - a place where you can feel at home. Everything about The Beehive Hotel reflects our own personal values - we're conscious about the environment, passionate about social issues, and genuinely want to be helpful and hospitable. We love to share the kind of information that helps you get the most out of your travels. Over the years The Beehive has evolved along with us and our many repeat guests. With our amazing onsite staff and manager, all of our guests receive our dedication and effort to helping you get the best out of your holiday.
