Some friends and I were desperate to find a place in Rome for just one night before we headed back home after our whirlwind Italian holiday. We found this place through Rick Steve's Italy 2009 guidebook and the website didn't look horrible (again, we only needed a place to rest our heads for a few hours). I find Rick Steve's... more

Do NOT stay here unless you wish to die of some horrible infectiouse disease..!! There was something living under the floor boards in our room and the staff were discraceful. This has got to be without a doubt the worlds worst, filthiest hovel!!!!! more

It's been awhile since I've stayed here but it sticks in my memory as the worst place I've ever stayed. I booked a private room for myself and my partner. We had a bunk bed, which was fine, except the room was uncomfortably hot. There was no fan or air con. The room was literally only the bunk bed, no... more

Please, don`t stay at casa olmata! It's a awful place, and they don't describe it correctly on the internet. It is moldy and smelly with awful people running it. They were very unpolite. The front door is almost falling - no security at all. Besides, there were no lockers in dorms at all. Just a few dirty locker outside, full... more

The place we stayed appeared to be somebodys house that they have rented out through casa olmata. There is two older people who dont speak english and are very intimidating. I went to get a shower after a long train journey and the woman was in the bathroom, i made my excuses saying i was just waiting for a shower... more

Stayed there with a group of girls and the hostel was the worst bit of the trip. Stayed in lots of hostels around europe and i didn't like this one at all. I could stand the dirt, the freezing shower water and the bad drainage from the shower (it just came straight out the bathroom onto the steps to the bedroom)... more

DONT STAY THERE! The hostel is terrible, very old, the rooms are very bad: very little for to much people, the beds are very inconfortable, there are no lockers and also the showers outside the room are not clean. When you take a shower the water is too cold or too warm. If you go there you also schould be... more

I stayed at casa olmata for 3 nights and had a very nice stay. i stayed in the hostel as advertized, and when i got there the owners gave me an option for a cheeper room than the one i had booked for originally. so that was nice. The room was simple, yet comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. the... more

We, too, had the unfortunate experience of being led to a room that was at least a ten minute walk from where we thought we were staying. We were told we MUST check in with our luggage by two, so we got there, expecting to put our stuff in our rooms, but we only had to check in at two... more
