Will definitely be staying here again. I spent about 3 weeks there in spring 2014. Great base for exploring Rome. 2 blocks from the Vatican. Super nice staff, and the owners were friendly as well. Breakfast was so good! I love the room that I stayed in- at the top and had a lovely view of the courtyard. I had... More

We stayed in this hotel in October 2014 and rented two rooms, a king and a single. Everything about the hotel was just as great as the last time we visited in 2009 Massimo and his wife are the owners and offer a very comfortable 4 star experience every time, although the hotel is rated 3 stars. This may be... More

This is a really great small hotel near the Vatican that is family owned & operated. Great room (#12) that felt quite spacious with a bed and a couch. Very small bathroom with a tiny shower. Attentive and friendly staff. Only stayed one night, but would certainly stay again when in Rome on the Vatican side of the city. Very... More

After our first stay we had high expectations. Our second visit did not let us down. The Bramante Hotel has traditional charm, and it has been family owned and operated for more than a century. It is tucked away on a small street between Via della Conciliazione and Borgo Pio. The walk to St. Peters takes about five minutes. Apart... More

Hotel Bramante is a wonderful, family-owned and -run hotel. We spent three nights there recently during our first visit to Rome, and were thrilled with the hotel itself, its location and especially the hospitality of our hosts. Hotel Bramante is located on a quiet street about 3 blocks from St. Peter's and Vatican City, and right around the corner is... More

Eight Andico (Antico) cousins travelled to our homeland San Valentino in Abruzzi, in June, 2014. Of course we were going to visit Rome also. Our trip was based around the availability of the Hotel Bramante. My brother had stayed there 15 years ago and insisted this is where we had to stay in Rome. He was so right. From the... More

Have stayed at this hotel no less than 10 times. The location is next to St. Peter's, it is convenient to every to every major attraction. The staff is outstanding, the rooms are quiet, clean, and just large enough to be comfortable. There is no better place to stay in Rome. Staying at the Bramante will let you experience how... More

Lonely Planet's guide book says of this hotel,"Within a stone's throw of St. Peter's Basilica, the timeless elegance of this historic hotel matches the charm of the surrounding streets," and later,"Fashions change but class remains and this hotel is nothing if not classy." We wholeheartedly concur. I can only add that the staff here are real sweethearts and extremely professional.... More

Our family trip to Rome was made even more spectacular because we stayed at Hotel Bramante. The staff is so friendly and accomodating. The breakfast is delicious. The rooms were comfortable with AC and flat screen TVs. We loved sitting out on the terrace sipping wine and looking through the day's pictures. A short walk from St. Peter's square, we... More

I have stayed in this hotel 3 times because it is worth a revisit every time. The staff remember their guests and care about tyeir comfort. It is a historical family run hotelvand they care about their reputation, so they put the most in their guests. I look forward to visiting again.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
