We stayed in Pitagora for two nights in August 2014. The room was very basic and clean. The advantage of this place is its cheap, less than 5 min walk to Termini station (train, metro and bus to the airport) and alot of shops and halal restaurant nearby. Breakfast was simple, a croissant from the store and little cup of... More

Horrible experience, end of october for 5 nights - it's felt like real big Rip off. The room is poor quality. End of october and the heating was not working, the room was not clean by the staff at all during our stay, and was already dirty the first day. This is flat with 5 rooms and the small wooden... This is not a hotel, it's a room inside an apartment. We had to arrange a time to meet the owner at the building, where he required full cash payment. On the [hotel booking site I used], it was advertised that the hotel accepts Visa and that only a cash deposit was required. It wiped out my entire emergency cash... More

This year (2014) in september we stayed in Pitagora for two nights. Before our arrival, Giuseppe wrote us an email and wanted to know time of arrival. When we arrived, Giuseppe was waiting near entry door. There is no label of B&B visible from street. After our arrival, Giuseppe shown us our room, gave a map of city and told... More

Stayed here with a friend in July 2014 for four nights. Initially, the hotel was difficult to find, as it doesn't have a sign outside - You have to ring the doorbell. Wasn't a big fan of the location, as it seemed unsafe and a little intimidating (two female travellers), but it was a stone's throw away from the Termini... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
