I had booked a dorm bed for three nights. When I arrived I was told I was too old at 51 as there was an age restriction of 40 on dorm accommodation. I was offered a single room at a reduced rate but this still increased my costs by 75 euros. I was also liable for the first nights stay... more

Location was good. We were paying 27 euro each per night in a dorm while other people in our room were paying 20. The owner didnt care and just said that was what we had agreed to. Was pretty annoyed by this as we purposefully booked on their website to reduced comission from hostelworld. Doesnt seem like much but over... more

Great little space. Perfectly located 5 minutes from Saint Peter's Square. Not the usual hostal (noisy, crowded, dirty). Clean, big and colourful rooms (we even had a sink and shower in the room, although booked with shared bathroom). Huuuuuge and yummy breakfast. Will definitely come back! more

I traveled throughout Italy for three weeks and Hotel Colors was my first stop. When I arrived I was given a huge room with a private bathroom and a balcony, even though I had paid for a single room with a shared bathroom. What a pleasant surprise! The staff was kind and helpful. The rooms and common spaces were clean... more

Great location! Only a few minutes away from the Vatican and just a bit more to all of the other attractions. I was able to get a (looked newly renovated) single room for 50 Euro/Night. The regular staff was friendly and helpful. Just don't expect any "hotel class service" from them. Its more of a hostel with nice single rooms.... more

Well, I will start with the good stuff. You can walk to the Vatican and to the Castle di St. Angelo. If you don't have a lot of luggage, once you come in from the Central Termini train station or airport, you can take the metro near the hotel. It's on a quiet corner, the staff is helpful (except the... more

I spent my first night in Rome at Hotel Colors. I had a little bit of a crisis because my bank had canceled my credit card because I forgot to call them before I took off and was freaking out and not being myself because I was tired. The sweet girl at the reception area was really understanding and helped... more

To be honest this place was a little scary at first. It was my first time in Rome and my sister and I did not arrive until late at night. Once at the wall with a heavy wooden door in it we rang the buzzard a few times not realizing that is was really heavy. (still after a few rings... more

We stayed in the hostel floor of Colors. Rooms were small and basic, but generally in good condition. Besides the six beds there were a sink and a mirror. Showers on the other hand were in terrible condition; cramped, dirty and flooded. There was also a kitchen that you could use to eat your own food (some bread and jam... more

Hotel Colors was by far the most disorganized hostel I stayed at anywhere between England and Greece. Making a reservation was pointless as the reception gave away our beds AFTER we had already checked in. When we returned that evening there were bags on our bed and we had an in denial receptionist who refused to acknowledge that there was... more
