Rooms are fine to stay for few nights with a affordable budget. The service is bad the breakfast is generally a coffee/ tea with a croissant. In our case we Got old ones with bacteria on it. No wifi. We recommend if you really don't have any other options, On and the building is really quite old :(

I've stayed at this place 6 times, and it has been great each time. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean. Don't expect a4 star hotel when you book here, but for its price, this is a very good place to stay (both hotel and hostel). I would recommend to stay at the hotel though... More

book.com strecteched theire imagination when they described this as a hotel. It was a room in an apartment block and the breakfast well that was a tray in the room. I know we didn't pay a lot but did expect a little more than then equavalient to a dated to a travel lodge. It was also not in a very... More

We stayed here for just one night but it was awful! The hostel is not near the center of anything, not even the train station. I know in the map it looks close but you have to walk a lot! The neighborhood was not very nice, just a bunch of asian cloth stores, not a lot of restaurants. Then there... More

The hostel is almost in the city center, so it was really comfortable to get to it in every time of the day. Relation Quality vs Price is good. The most I liked the receptionist, he showed all sightseenings on the map, suggest how to get to them. It is good place for student or persons who would like to... More

I dont even know where to start with this hostel. First of all the stairs.. its like five floors worth the stairs, so if you have any kind of problem or heavy luggage, avoid it. Our room was kind a nice, but that was it. The "reception" was this guy's room/kitchen, in which he kept playing videogame 24/7. And the... More

Stayed here with my girlfriend during September for 5 nights, although the place was close to Termini and was not too expensive I would not stay there again. We had to pay in Cash, which when you are on a budget is not good, as we were planning on paying for all our hotels on our credit card. The room... More

There are two separate floors for the hostel portion and the hotel portion of Hostel Starlight. This review is only for the hostel. The location is close to the termini, and while it is convenient, the neighborhood is rundown and has a population of homeless people loitering about near the station. The building is old, complete with rickety elevator. Dorm... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Starlight for our honeymoon--it's a typical small European hotel that takes up a floor of an old apartment building. The staff were excellent and very friendly (gave us lots of tips), and were quick to answer our emails (sent via the hotel starlight website) to make a reservation. The hotel was quiet... More

We were booked to stay at Starlight Hostel but the staff put us up at the Hotel for the first 2 nights of our stay at the Hostel price with the offer of spending the other 2 nights in the Hotel for the normal Hotel price. After 2 nights in the hotel we decided to stay there as it was... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
