I stayed at this hotel four nights for a business trip to Rome. I don't understand why this hotel is so maligned on the site. The staff was helpful even if they didn't want to be your best friend. The approach to the Villa holds promise, but the "welcome" we received on arrival was disinterested to say the least. After waiting a while at reception, someone grudgingly came from the back room, took our details without so much as a greeting, before he was joined by another equally disdainful staff member, who threw us our keys without an explanation... more

This is a great looking building situated in the hills south of Rome and relatively close to Ciampino Airport. The rural setting is quiet and the grounds and buildings look fantastic. Istayed in the hotel for 4 nights and it's absolutely fine. I had no problems with any of the staff and I found the reception quite helpful. Free umbrellas were provided by teh hotel when it rained. I have read previous views of this hotel and am a little surprised. I went with 5 other people, in three different rooms, all very clean. Hotel staff absolutely brilliant (especially marco). Nice breakfast. Number 53 bus stops outside hotel to take you into centre of rome at one euro a go. Would recommend and would certainly stay there again. more

Checked in to a room the size of a closet on a very busy and noisy street. It was as hot and stuffy as there was no ventilation. The desk clerk refused to turn on the air conditioning saying it was too cold to use it. Finally he gave in and turned it on. It was turned off at 5am... more

Room was unclean and I was shown 2 others equally disgusting. Tthe sinks in each hadn't even been washed down. The front desk was argumentative until I insisted they send a housekeeper to clean at least one room. Apparently they had been full booked the previous night but why was I having to apologize for asking for a clean room.... more
