Only stayed for one night so didn't really get the feel for the place. But our room was smartly decorated but only had a view of the courtyard. The tube ride into town is a little long but ok and the walk from the tube to the hotel you have to cross over roads. Whenever doing that in Rome you... more

This hotel was excellent. Was travelling with parents in their fifties and while the hotel is outside the city, we actually found it quite relaxing and quite convenient. The taxi into the city was not expensive (around 10 euros one way) and there were a few family run restaurants relatively nearby with excellent value food. The amenities were top-notch, really... more

While this was a beautiful hotel in georgeous surroundings we found it to be a hotel with just a room. The room was cleaned daily to a high standard and fresh towels provided. At night the corridors can be very noisy and you can hear toilets flushing and doors closing. All floors are marble and the noise echos. There were... more

bit of a rough ish area, quick walk to the metro. It does mean to get to see Rome for what it really is. Room was lovely, doors bang a little... but think you have to allow for such things... hotel staff very helpful. Brekkie was ok, service a little odd... more

We have just returned from a conference in Rome, Italy were had no choice of hotels, the conference planners booked the Hotel Torre Rossa and this hotel. At check-in we were assigned the Grand Hotel Plazzo Carpegna. We were not happy with this as the conference was actually being held in the Torre Rossa. However, once we arrived at the... more

Grand Palazzo Carpegna is a very grand looking hotel in quite an unusual location, set 100 yards back from a busy main road. Saying this, it is quiet and set in some nice gardens. The check-in was friendly and no problems, however upon entering our room and looking for some rest after a fairly tortuous journey to Rome (explain in... more

I stayed at this hotel for an entire month for a study abroad with my school. The staff is generally very friendly (there were a few bad apples I'll admit). The hotel is clean and comfortable (especially the beds) and the maids are extremely nice. The food is AMAZING. The overall look of it is very elegant and clean. The... more

We arrived into Ciampio and caught the terravision bus to termini and the metro to cornelia (line A). This was cheap and hastle free. When you come out of the turnstiles take the escalator on the left and veer to the right towards Via Aurelia. Turn right at McDonalds and the hotel is 2 minutes along the road on the... more

I booked this hotel very last minute thru a web site that offers a service of booking a hotel based on a short description without knowing the name etc. It said it was close to the Vatican - It wasn't when I got the details through. I was a litle worried but once I got off the plane at Ciampino... more

The hotel is located in a suburb of Rome, but only about a 15-minute metro ride to the center of the city. It was a former Papal mansion or something, and is still owned by the Vatican. It also had extensive conference facilities. While it was classed as a 4-star hotel, compared to similar North American properties, it is a... more
