My husband treated me to a lovely surprise Christmas in Rome for my 50th birthday and Rome did not disappoint! We stayed at The Church Palace Hotel on the 3rd floor for 3 nights arriving on Christmas Eve. This hotel is a good location for the Metro to get in and out of the city. A Metro ticket costs about... The exterior and ground floors of this Hotel are lovely, charming and will lull you into a false sense of security. It's not until you reach the actual hotel rooms that you realize this is, in fact, not a palace. We stayed on the 4th floor. There were no outward facing windows, only a skylight that we could not figure... More

Functional hotel about 45 euro taxi ride from airport and 20 euro taxi to centre. Nice entrance and public areas and clean basic rooms. Food was ok. Good place for a business trip or conference but would prefer to be in the centre if on holiday.

Imposing exterior hides the dirty little rooms inside -mine overlooked the bins and was about as clean. My bathroom had nose pickings and a previous guest's foundation smeared across the tiles and lots of hair around the sink which wasn't mine!! Reported to Reception but nothing done until I requested cleaning materials to do it myself when a surly concierge... More

We stayed in the hotel 3 nights begining of October. Convenient to public transportation, near the metro station. The hotel itself is ok. Nice updated lobby but the rooms need work to justify the price. Staff eexcellent and very professional. Receptionist lady ( I think her name was Orsy) was very helpfull and knowledgeable about the city. She spoke english... More

Spent 2 nights here before a cruise. Very impressive building and lovely interior. Rooms okay but in need of updating. Very nice and helpful staff. Only 4 stops on the metro to the centre of Rome. We ate in the hotel restaurant which was very atmospheric but the food was very average. Breakfast had lots of choice but far too... More

Finding a decent, affordable, hotel in Rome is generally a bit of a nightmare in my experiance! But The Chuch Palace is a good option! The location (on a main road and outside the city centre) is the ideal if you want to relax and the hotel is close to a metro station At first look, the hotel is pretty impressive! Lobby... More

We spent two nights in this hotel. Rooms are small, and it is very noisy. Nice park just in front of the hotel Restaurant average. Breakfast average. I will not come back. it is too far from center of Rome.

The hotel looks awesome from outside, it's located quite close to the metro station so very convenient for city tour by train. We were allocated a fantastic room, however the Air conditioner was not working and it was really hot so we asked to be moved and the hotel staff obliged. The staff were very friendly and our stay was... More

I stayed here with my Boyfriend for a city break from Monday 20th October to Friday 24th October. Check in was easy, the place is massive so we had a bit of trouble finding our room which was entirely our own fault! Room was small but sufficient enough for us two as all we did was sleep and shower in... More
