We stayed at hotel madison in january 2016. It is located just across The termini railway station. The rooms were very clean, with modern furniture And LCD. The bathroom was very clean And spatious. The breakfast was excellent! Good value for money.

Very close to the train station...but not worth it. The people in front of me at check in were staying a few nights, the were treated with smiles. I was staying one night, then jumping on a train to explore the rest of Italy. I was treated with disrespect. The room, once found during the maze...oh and the maid didn't... More

Only advantage & plus point for this hotel is the location. Its right across Roma Termini station. Apart from it there is nothing else thats good here. Cons: 1) Smelly, Stinking floors. To find the rooms is like navigating a big maze on a floor 2) They dont have wi-Fi in the rooms at all. When we arrived it was... More

Claustrophobic, worn out, smelly hotel located near Termini station. Reaching the room through the maze of narrow corridors is a challenge. Dread to think of a fire incident - guests can forget any chances of escaping. Only plus point is the location. Indifferent staff & small lift don't help matters. Rooms were just about average. Bottomline - avoid.

I stayed at Madison Hotel for 8 nights - 4 nights in October 2015 to begin the holiday and 4 nights to complete my holiday. This was the 2nd time I have stayed at Hotel Madison (previous December 2008) , and booked a room by on-line service: Never any problem. Hotel had my pre-arranged bookings for 6 months through on-line... More

Gave this hotel 2 stars, 1 for being so close to the railway station and the other for the cleanliness of the hotel it was exceptionally clean. but then our room was in bad repair, the shower door runners were broken and the spring was worn in our main door so sometimes it opened to let us in and sometimes... Stayed here 9/20-9/22/15. Good: My room was fine, good size, clean; hotel location very close to train station so didn't need to drag our suitcases too far. Coffee was good and "Ben" at the front desk was fairly congenial when we checked in (though Ben's recommendation for the restaurant - Ristorante da Nazzareno- was awful). Bad: Safes in both rooms... I booked a double room in this hotel for 4 nights. As soon as we arrived, the receptionist said we were being transferred to another hotel. No explanation. "There has been a problem. Follow this man", that's all he said. After a 5-minute walk, we ended up in Hotel Galles. The room looked clean but old. The WiFi signal was... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
