Hotel situated in a great location: just a few steps from Termini station. Rooms are clean and big: I was luck to have a 2 floors room, decorated in dark colors. Perfect croissants in the morning. Generally speaking breakfast could be better but there are so many places to eat around that this point is not important too much.

We were originally supposed to be at the San Marco but something happened and they moved us to a suite at the Hotel Galles. Wow what an amazing room! We had a balcony, our bed was huge, and the room felt like a castle. Great after days in smaller rooms on our trip. Near metro hubs and walking distance to... More

Located in a busy area close to Termini this hotel tries to attract guests. Heavy traffic on the street outside from 3 AM... The staff seemed busy with everything except the guests. Calling a number of taxis was almost impossible. The restaurant served a breakfast that was just about it and the dinner we had had more food than quality.... More

I am rating this hotel as excellent based on the superb experience that we had. The staff and service was exceptional that it masked the minor glitches. It was so close to the Termini Station, about 10 mins walk and only 2mins from another underground train. The room was really spacious (check out the pictures) and the WC was massive,... More

Front Desk and Housekeeping were very helpful and knowledgeable of surrounding area. Bellman gladly lent us a converter plug While the room was comparatively small by American standards, it was clean and cool enough to beat the hot August in Rome. Breakfast was sufficient to energize you for the day ahead- boiled eggs, cold cuts, cheese, sweet rolls and pastries,... More

This hotel would be a lot higher in my rating if a few small problems were attended to. The staff are great, but a bit lacking in language skills. Breakfast was average. WiFi was abysmal, minutes to send a few lines of text. Window and shutters in our room would not lock, Bedside light had a blown bulb. Only one... More

The worst thing about this hotel is that it is a Faraday cage: no mobile works inside, everybody out on the road talking on mobiles! Internet inside is inexistent. I didn't have a desk for working with my laptop, just a very low table to bend my back. When I reserved the hotel on the web, there was a small... More

Try to stay in the main building. The room we received first was very bad: Dark, hot and noisy. We shared our view and staff offered us new few rooms to choose from. What was fantastic. The room in the main building was good but unfortunately the air conditioning wasn't working in whole hotel. The room was very clean and... More

Don't book this hotel as it is exceptionally dirty and dusty. A friend of ours booked us this hotel which was conveniently next to his address in Rome. Although we were nicely welcomed, the disappointment was when we entered the room. Dust is everywhere. Some areas might have not been cleaned for weeks. The room was in a different building... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
