This is a beautiful 2 bed apartment in a fabulous area. It was spotlessly clean, modern, underfloor heating, great showers, comfortable beds and with beautiful authentic beamed ceilings and terracotta floors and shuttered windows. Plenty of space for a family of four surrounded by wonderful restaurants , bars, patisserie and little shops. The only negative, and it's a small one... More

On a trip to Rome with my family, we chose this because it seemed close to where we wanted to be and it looked acceptable. I am happy to say we were pleasantly surprised on both of these points. It is a comfortable walk from most of the major tourist spots around the Forum, Palatine Hill and a little longer... More

The apartment , one of four in a traditional old house had been refurbished to a high standard, stylishly decorated and fully fitted with everything one could need. The modern kitchen with a gas hob was much appreciated for making breakfast and the odd cup of tea . The bathroom also good with a power shower and plentiful supply of... More

This apartment was the best, most fully equipped place in Italy. We stayed in 8 places total. This wins the prize. The location: Fantastic. Trastevere has it all... walking is not hilly. Great places to eat everywhere. Walking distance to the Forum, Colosseum, etc. The nearby tram to go to the Pantheon. Facilities: Coldest air conditioning in all Italy. LOTS... More

Fantastic apartment in the trendy Trastevere area. Apartment is modern spacious and well appointed. There are great bars and restaurants on your doorstop (try The Fish Market) and all the main Rome attractions are within walking distance. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Would use again if in Rome for sure!

We thought we were going to an hotel (I don't really know why) and we found our-self in an very nice and comport apartment on the edge of Trastevere. The Location is amazing and everything is in a walking distance (the Vatican on one side and the coliseum on the other) The place is very clean and tidy with fridge... More

Great place! We feel we really lucked out on finding this apartment. It was clean, spacious, and walkable from all tourist spots. Loved the nightlife in the neighborhood. The washing machine inside the apartment was a huge plus after we got caught in a rain storm. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in these apartments for five nights. The apartments are in a great location for sightseeing, major attractions are within a 30 minute walk in any direction. They are clean and well maintained. Maribella was a great help as was Luisa. We stayed in a one bedroom upstairs apartment, with a loft/mezzanine floor. The bedroom and bathroom was on... More

We, a group of two families (4 adults and 2 children), found La Gensola a very nice place to stay in Rome. It was well equipped, well stocked, clean and a stone's throw away from the Tiber river. It was close to grocery shops, ATMs, lovely bakeries and restaurants. It was well connected to all the places of historical interest... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
