For the short time we spent in the beautiful city of Rome the hotel Residenza Paolo made it that much more enjoyable. Literally just steps from the Vatican. Short walk to wonderful restaurants and little quaint shops. The Hotel might be small but quite large when it comes to comfort, convenience, cleanliness and just a wonderful friendly helpful and accommodating... More

Very secure hotel right next to the Square. Basic but comfortable accommodations, the standard room is rather small. The staff is amazingly helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a good assortment but lukewarm, scrambled eggs. The terrace was a fantastic place to sit in the evening after a long day of sightseeing - to have a glass of wine and watch... More

Everything written about the hotel by other visitors is correct : the staff is fantastic, extremely helpful and polite and always smiling (which is not always the case in hotels in Italy). The atmosphere of the hotel is personal, quiet, and you won't be bumping into lots of tourists as it is a small hotel. Everything is neat and clean,... More

This is a small pension up on a top floor in an apartment building opposite St. Peter's Basilica. Quiet, with no actual livingroom, the rooms have only small showers, and you can hear the street below if you open the windows. The most unfair thing is that they have a tiny balcony with two tables which they show in a... More

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for two nights as headed off for the hills of Umbria. The hotel is lovely and in a great location. It is unusual in that it occupies the upper floors of a building housing Vatican offices. The rooms are very well appointed but small. The staff is very helpful and the hotel... More

This hotel has a small, intimate feel with an environment that makes it easy to get to know other guests. It is about a 10 minute walk to the metro and walking distance to just about anywhere in the historic center, not to mention that it is directly accross the street from St. Peter's Plaza. Breakfasts are fresh and abundant.... More

This is a very good hotel. Staff is very helpful all the time and even like to talk to you even if you do not speak Italian. The location is excellent. It is simply aside Saint Peter's Church in the Vatican City. Rome does not have a good subway (it is very dirt and covers only a small fraction of... More

Stayed here for two nights recently. The hotel is on the upper levels of a shared building which is very quiet. There's enough signage to guide you through, but not really a great presence in the downstairs area. Staff were very pleasant and all spoke English thankfully (since I didn't know much Italian). People have commented that the rooms are... More

This hotel is perfectly located as it is close to St. Peter's Square. I counted my steps from the gate of this hotel to the closest pillar in St. Peter's Square, it took me 20 steps and I have short legs, this would be less for someone with bigger steps. There is a lovely rooftop garden that is open from... More

Terrific place to stay if you want to spend time at the Vatican. Very quiet location. Rooms were very small...even by Europe standards. Shower was extremely small. Wifi was just OK. Excellent breakfast. More
