We were just in Rome on a visit that required multiple visits to the Vatican and areas close by. This hotel was a perfect location for us! It is a tiny boutique hotel that used to be a Monastery and was changed to a hotel some time ago. There are some rooms that are VERY spartan, tiny bathrooms, tiny beds,... More

Main idea was trip to Vatican city and area around. That is the most best location if you have the same task. You need just cross only one street to appear on St.Peter sq. Rooms are veeeeeeeeery small and atmosphere like in monastery. Hotel have the world smallest elevator :)) Tips for travellers: 1. Taxi from Termini to hotel cost... More

I spent two nights at this hotel a couple years ago on a business trip, I really wanted to attend mass there on Sunday morning and got my wish. It is an old converted Abby so the rooms are really small with single beds. Being an Architect I was impressed with the restoration of the old building and delighted with... More

Location of this hotel for any visitors to the Vatican, and Rome in general. We stayed in the smallest room with a small bed and we were still very comfortable and didn't feel squashed. We were in the first room next to reception and were initially concerned about noise from the reception. We needn't have worried as the hotel was... More

This is the only place I will stay in Rome. I absolutely adore this hotel, the service, and everything about it. I travel to Rome frequently, as it is one of my favorite cities, and I have stayed at the Residenza Paolo VI at least 4 times in the last year. Even staying in their junior rooms ('French bed'), you... More

We didn't use the hotel, but we did have a private dinner and terrace reception here at the Paolo VI so this review concerns the dinner and reception, not an overnight stay. I'm leaving this review because the terrace at Paolo VI is maybe one of the hidden gems of Rome. It provides a beautiful private view of the Basilica... More

It's always a pleasure to return to the Residenza! In the busy and large city of Rome, away from the crowds of the Spanish Steps, sits a beautiful boutique hotel, in a former monastary property. Completely renovated, the hotel features all the luxuries of top hotels, without sacrificing the hospitality and charm that one would expect of a hotel bearing... More

We almost did not go to this hotel from reading other reviews, what a mistake that would have been. We could not fault the service we received from this place. We booked a suite, when we arrived the suite over looked the Vatican perfect view to wake up to. A very warm and welcoming hotel, all of the staff where... More

This was opened by the Vatican in 2000 and is exactly across the street from the columns of St. Peters Square and directly opposite the Papal Palace. Since the hotel occupies the 4th and 5th floor of the building you can look right into the papal floor of the palace opposite. 3 minutes from St. Peters and 6 minutes inside... More
