To be closer to St. Peter's Square you would have to be in it - the hotel is literally across the street from the square. Lovely rooftop terrace to sit and relax, and enjoy a drink, with wonderful view of the basilica. Within walking distance to other Rome attractions - we walked along cobblestone streets to the Pantheon in a... More

This hotel is perfect for those looking to visit the Vatican as it literally is footsteps away from St. Peter's square. To walk to all other tourist spots it is roughly about a half hours walk. The walks are beautiful so I highly recommend taking comfortable shoes and exploring the city on foot however there are regular buses. The room... More

Cannot say enough great things about this hotel. The Staff was great and spoke several languages and the location - WOW!!! Literally across the small street from St. Peter's Square. My mother & I stayed in a Deluxe Room and it was clean, comfortable and quite a good size. Being able to go up to the porch for drinks &... More

We stayed at this hidden gem of a hotel June 2014. The terrace is absolutely stunning giving a marvellous view of St Peter's Square and the Vatican. The breakfast is excellent, and in a lovely sunny room. Our room was on the lower floor and was fine but not particularly amazing but it did have air conditioning. The staff on... More

Sometimes it does not matter how clean, good, etc. a hotel is. This is such a case. The roof terrace (which now seems to be enlarged!) is really giving a full view on the St. Peters basilica and on the papal palace. This view is just unbeatable. Nice point is that this is the only hotel on Vatican extraterritorial area... More

I can't say enough about this jewel of a space with only 23 rooms. Gorgeous rooms (mine, the Bernini room was plenty spacious). Lush linens, fabulous bathroom and gorgeous view of the Monastery garden. My friend adored her view of the Vatican, while I preferred the quiet side overlooking the garden. Excellent. Has to be be THE third floor best... More

We stayed for 4 nights at this lovely hotel. Every evening before going back out on the busy streets of Rome we enjoyed a glass of wine overlooking St. Peter's. The staff was so accamodating and helpful and the breakfast room was lovely. My pleasure to reccommend this property!

Hotel Residenza Paolo VI is an oasis of peace and quiet in the frenetic bustle of Rome. The rooms are small (remember this was a Monastery) but well laid out, extremely clean, and, above all, comfortable. Unless you arrive with a moving van full of luggage, this is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is professional, courteous, helpful, and... More

This is a first class accommodation. Staff are friendly and professional. Standard room is a bit small, but clean and comfortable. Deluxe is well appointed as are the entry and hallways. Plenty of hot water and housekeeping very attentive to small things for U.S. travelers like toilet tissue and Kleenex. Terrace bar and restaurant perfect for relaxing after the busy... More

We stayed here as a treat for our 25th wedding anniversary. We chose the junior suite which has a view from the bedroom window out over St Peters, and its this location which makes this place special. We glanced into other rooms which were a little small but still very nicely furnished, but it was the view that was worth... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
... more   less
