Spent 4 night in the superior room. the room and bathroom were large and clean. The decor not modern, so don't look for a trendy hotel.the room faced the inner court so it was very quiet (some minimal noise from the corridor). Rome is very loud-traffic is terrible, so i'm guessing every room facing the road will be noisy without... More

Marianna and Antonio made our stay absolute perfection with their hospitality and clean, comfortable rooms! Starting with the ancient elevator, full of charm, to the exceptional open air market every day right outside our door, this hotel is a perfect choice for our stay in Rome!!! Every morning there was breakfast and cappuccino waiting for us. The entire staff at... More

I would certainly stay here again, for the following reasons: convenience to Termini station (for trips out of Rome or access to Fiumicino by train); for a pleasant, real neighborhood with a lively daily market (not a "flea market"!) to one side of the hotel; a very short walk from some of the most fascinating ancient churches of Rome (Santa... We stayed at this boutique hotel 7 years ago and it was like returning home. Jean welcomed us with open arms and she and her friendly staff couldn't do enough to help us.The beautiful historic building adds to the atmosphere. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and Luigi waited on us with hot toast and... More

Hotel Giuliana is my home-away-from-home in Rome. Staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the train station that connects to the Fiumincino Airport. Great restaurants, shopping and sightseeing is all within walking distance. The rooms are clean and comfy. The continental breakfast (for me, starting with a steaming cappuccino) offers a variety... More

Staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Hotel itself was a beautiful old building, well maintained & clean but I was expecting a little more from all the reviews I read. Double room was very small - even for European standards. "King" bed was 2 very lumpy, very old twin mattresses pushed together. Street noise was unbearable and the little... More

Hotel Giuliana is a small, well-located hotel near Termini and Via Nazionale walking distance from all of Rome's major sites. All of the staff speak English and are exceptionally kind and accommodating. Located on the 1st floor (our 2nd floor) of a mixed use building, there is a lift should you need it. I stayed in room 11 which is... More

You Know prices for accommodation in Rome are astronomical. This particular hotel offers incredibly clean rooms, very good value, great location, and wonderful staff. We stayed in Rome for four nights here and the value offered was amazing. Would recommend for travellers seeking good value whilst overstaying in Rome.

The room is basic but what we expected. Staff were v helpful - Antonio was kind and helped us with all our restaurants on our 3 night stay and we were not disappointed. He even remembered my wife's birthday! Unfortunately Lazio lost that day. Mariana was v helpful & suggested where to get best food to take back. If we... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
