We stayed in this hotel as a couple for 7 nights in early January. Since it was our first visit to Rome, the location and authenticity of the place were our priorities. All the important sights except for the Vatican are in walking distance to the hotel. The shopping triangle is also nearby. In addition to the location, the staff... More

This hotel is in the heart of the city with 15 to 40 mins walking distance to most of the attractions of Rome. Too many pros of the hotel including price, location, helpful personnel. You can purchase internet connection on daily basis for a small fee, which works quite okay. Overall: this hotel is strongly recommended if you are on... More

We recently spent 3 weeks in this charming, family-run hotel and cannot praise our stay highly enough. We had previously spent a week here in 2007 and found it to be perfectly situated for sightseeing in Rome and for getting to Termini for day trips. We literally walked everywhere except to the Vatican and Trastevere, although public transit was readily... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
