Had a great time in Rome, this hotel is walking distance to all the attractions, staff were friendly and rooms were clean although they are very small, so was the shower area. Half price drinks and nibbles went down a treat before we went out for dinner, a few nice restaurants close by were very reasonably priced. I would stay... More

We couldn't have found a better place to stay in Rome. The location is tops, Right near the Piazza del Popolo. Could walk to The Vatican, The Colosseum and all the streets in central Rome. The staff was so helpful in providing places to go and things to do. Rooms were tiny so we upgraded and went from tiny to... More

The River Palace is next to Piazza Popolo - great location for walking but you could take the train as it's right in front of the hotel. Wonderful hotel, with clean, comfortable rooms and a delicious full service breakfast with a nod to those Americans that like eggs scrambled and coffee with cream. The pastries and prosecco for breakfast was... More

After staying in marvelous places across Italy, we were shocked at what the 'Deluxe Triple' room provided us. The room was so small that we had difficulty storing our luggage and walking around the room. This room gave new meaning to the term 'sub-standard accommodation,' especially given the cost of the room. We did not realize that upgrading was even... More

As with most European city hotels the rooms can be quite small. I booked this via BA and after reading some tips from other TA travellers on here asked about an upgrade on arrival. Great advice and thank you to those who advised that. For a very modest cost about £15 pet night we were upgraded to an excellent room.... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. We were pleased with our deluxe room on the second floor at the back of the hotel. Great breakfast with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Have to say that all the staff we dealt with were incredibly helpful and efficient. As others have said the happy hour is well worth a visit for half... More

The hotel has a good location, otherwise is sucks! The rooms are very tiny and smelly. The hotel is very old and worn out. I could hear everything going on in the corridor and worst of all I could hear my neighbour snore. The icing on the cake is that they recommend places that gives them kick-backs. The receptionist would... More

The River Palace is just off the Piazza del Popolo and with a bit of stamina is reasonable walking distance to all of the tourist sites, but also a couple of minute's walk from the underground (Flaminio). The tram is also almost outside the hotel. The hotel itself has a very unassuming entrance in a street with some mediocre shops,... More

This hotel was excellent even before we arrived......they dealt with our emails with several queries about transfers, location, trains etc... They organised a minivan to pick us up from the airport straight to the hotel. On arrival they were so efficient, all had excellent English which was brilliant, they made us feel at home from the outset. Location was very... More

My wife and I chose the River Palace because it is somewhat equidistant between the many sights of Rome and the Parco de la Musica, where I was attending a trade show. The tram stop to the Parco is less than 2 blocks away and very convenient (~10 minute ride + ~10-minute walk). Just remember to bring Euro 1.50 in... More
