Nothing but good things to say about the Hotel Capo d' Africa! From the friendless and efficient of staff, to cleanliness, comfort of the rooms, location, and definitely last but not least, a fantastic price. My Mum and I came to Rome for 5 days, from 2nd to 7th January. First impressions of the hotel were excellent; contemporary, yet classic... More

This is one of the nicest hotels overall. All staff have been so helpful and super friendly. Great location with colosseum and metro. Quiet room , excellent breakfast everday and dinner at night was lovely. When we come back to Rome we will stay here again, and i hardly ever say that.

First the positives: nice breakfast, good location. I do not agree with most of the other reviews- this hotel is nonspecific, forgettable and the rooms are small and basic. The front desk staff are not so friendly and even less helpful. We were shown 2 of the smallest rooms I have ever seen (and I am from NY). When I... More

this hotel is excellent from the moment you walk in to check in to check out very friendly staff always willing to assist with any request. the colosseum is a five minute walk with other sites not to far away, there are plenty of restaurants to choice from within a few minutes walk, breakfast at the hotel is fine and... My Husband and i stayed at the Capo d'Africa whilst on honeymoon in Rome. The hotel was in a great location (very close to the sites and the train station) with spacious rooms and a comfortable bathroom. The breakfast buffet had ample variety and the staff were very friendly making our stay all the more pleasant. The rooftop breakfast area... More

Can't find a better reasonably priced hotel within a walking distance to Colosseum. Rooms are very quite and the hotel itself on a very cosy and quite street. Ask for the room facing the back (not the street side if possible), but even the first floor corner room was fine with us and we didn't hear any outside noise or... More

The good things first: It was close to Colosseum, and close to the tube with some nice restaurants and pubs around. The room was in a good size and kept clean everyday. The breakfast was quite nice and the staff there were really friendly. ...and now onto the bad: The staff in the reception were not nice or friendly at... More

Dear Mrs. Rebecca, I’d like to thank you for having been our guest. I really appreciate your positive comments about the cleanness and size of rooms and our breakfast staff. On the other hand, I am sorry that your experience with us was not up to standards. In November, it is true that we had not air condition because usually... More

We chose the Hotel d Africa due to its location, two blocks from the Colosseum and near the Metro station. Our room was on the first floor, which is the same floor as the bar. Needless to say it was a bit noisy over the weekend. Next time, I would request a room on another floor. The breakfast was wonderful... More

This hotel was perfect for our 4 night stay in Rome over the New Year period. Situated a short distance from the Colisseum, the location was excellent for visiting the ancient Roman sites but also set in a quiet street away from the mass of tourists. It was also a very easy to walk from here to the national museum,... More

I decided to book with the Capo d'Africa Hotel after reading the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. We were planning on spending 8 nights in Rome so I really wanted a pleasant experience with good value, otherwise it would have been a whole week of regret. We were absolutely delighted with the hotel. A hawker for a ride service approached us... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
