This was part of a long planned trip with our friends David and Kate Hastings to tour south of Italy and Sicily embracing Italy’s years of history and culture along with the current. To do this we asked Planetrail to plan our whole trip which started with a flight to Rome where we stayed for three nights at the Hotel... More

Having breakfast on the roof top terrace was a great way to start our day. The breakfast buffet was delicious- excellent variety of hot & cold selections. Some birds and seagulls swooping in and out for food but made it interesting. Our room was very comfortable- it was the only hotel that we stayed in during our 3 week trip... More

WOW...my friend and I topped off our European vacation by staying at this lovely, charming hotel. The room was wonderful with clean crispy sheets each night and nice bathroom. We opened our window and was greeted with rooftop gardens with all types of beautiful flowers. The hotel has the most beautiful rooftop restaurant /lounge overlooking the colosseum, great food and... Spotless hotel with a lovely friendly atmosphere. Great location with the Coliseum at the end of the street and yet no noise pollution in our room, whatsoever. Metro a short walk away. Good restaurants nearby. Lovely room which catered for all our needs and comforts with crisp white bed linen and odourless, large, fluffy towels. All staff were so friendly... More

Our second stay at this fine hotel was not quite as good as the first but most enjoyable nonetheless. Our room was large, well furnished and comfortable. The one dinner had in their restaurant was excellent and the breakfasts are very good, although one or two corners have been cut. The main problem was that the temperature shot up into... More

This hotel is a few hundred meters from the Coliseum and one hundred and fifty meters from a cab rank , so it is an ideal base camp for a mini break in Rome. The rooms are small but functional with showers that do the job.The front of house staff all speak perfect English and can advise you on all... More

Stayed here for three nights. Had a massive room. Its a really cool place with friendly staff and most facilities. The location is the best part, minutes from the sightseeing places. Room was clean and the bathroom was well fitted out. Wifi was OK and was free. The breakfast is on the terrace and is fantastic. The staff are always... More

From booking in to leaving two days later the staff could not do enough to help make our stay a pleasure, the room was spacey, clean. The bathroom in marble clean and a large bath to enjoy a welcome soak at the end of the day. Breakfast plenty full and a good selection hot or cold food, also the hotel... More

Really helpful staff, well situated and quiet but just a short walk to all the tourist attractions. The staff were super friendly and helpful advising where to go and what to see, advised good value for money tours and restaurants without being pushy at all. The place is spotless and modern with a great breakfast room. As our inboard flight... More

We stayed at this hotel as part of a package. The staff are really helpful. The restaurant is on the top floor with a wonderful aspect. Very civilised breakfast times for holiday makers (until 11 am!) and such a welcome there! Very funny staff who create a lovely atmosphere. Great start to the day. The rooms were good; the bar... Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
