We had a wonderful stay at this small boutique hotel steps from the ancient city, the colosseum, and great night life/dinner options! The view from the happy hour balcony is breathtaking! Staff was so polite and helpful.

I selected Capo for a 4-night stay in Rome with my mother. We wanted something nice, centrally located and reasonably priced. I think I found it with Capo, however, I did not love this hotel by any means. It was absolutely adequate in every area. We reserved a room with two twin beds - the mattresses were very firm, so... My husband and I recently stayed at Capo D'Africa over the New Year holiday. As soon as we pulled up I knew we had found a gem. We have stayed at numerous hotels in Italy/Rome and most are old and damp, small elevators (if there is one) and staff not qualified to deal with tourists. We were very happy with... More

Nicely renovated hotel just around the corner from the Colosseum and famous Palatino area. Furthermore, the very centre of Rome is in a walking distance. The staff was very friendly and good humoured, and the breakfast buffet generous (Italian style accopanied with Scandinavian choices). The room was surprinsingly big, and extremely comfortable. As a luxury one could mention the beautiful... More

Nothing but good things to say about the Hotel Capo d' Africa! From the friendless and efficient of staff, to cleanliness, comfort of the rooms, location, and definitely last but not least, a fantastic price. My Mum and I came to Rome for 5 days, from 2nd to 7th January. First impressions of the hotel were excellent; contemporary, yet classic... More

This is one of the nicest hotels overall. All staff have been so helpful and super friendly. Great location with colosseum and metro. Quiet room , excellent breakfast everday and dinner at night was lovely. When we come back to Rome we will stay here again, and i hardly ever say that.

First the positives: nice breakfast, good location. I do not agree with most of the other reviews- this hotel is nonspecific, forgettable and the rooms are small and basic. The front desk staff are not so friendly and even less helpful. We were shown 2 of the smallest rooms I have ever seen (and I am from NY). When I... More

this hotel is excellent from the moment you walk in to check in to check out very friendly staff always willing to assist with any request. the colosseum is a five minute walk with other sites not to far away, there are plenty of restaurants to choice from within a few minutes walk, breakfast at the hotel is fine and... My Husband and i stayed at the Capo d'Africa whilst on honeymoon in Rome. The hotel was in a great location (very close to the sites and the train station) with spacious rooms and a comfortable bathroom. The breakfast buffet had ample variety and the staff were very friendly making our stay all the more pleasant. The rooftop breakfast area... More

Can't find a better reasonably priced hotel within a walking distance to Colosseum. Rooms are very quite and the hotel itself on a very cosy and quite street. Ask for the room facing the back (not the street side if possible), but even the first floor corner room was fine with us and we didn't hear any outside noise or... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
