Pros: Helpful, efficient, friendly staff - especially at reception; modern, clean and new; competitively priced rooftop restaurant with inside/outside option; minibar, free room safe; for variety of dining - several good restaurants within five minutes walk; close to Colosseum/Forum and Hop on-Hop off bus stops. Cons: Parking is very difficult in the vicinity; steps up from street to hotel entrance;... More

This is a quality modern hotel in an excellent neighbourhood near to the Colosseum. What makes this hotel stand out is the service. The attention to detail is excellent, maid service three times a day to the room, never intrusive. Free minibar in room (this was really enjoyed by our teenage son)..., a spacious and well equipped bedroom with a... More

Hotel Capo d'Africa is a haven of peace located a seven minute walk from the Colosseum. and within easy walking reach of most of the popular attractions of Rome. Service there is exemplary - we were made to feel valued and welcome by all members of staff. The rooms are tastefully decorated, very well equipped and immaculately clean. Reception staff... More

My boyfriend and I spent a long weekend in Rome in end of March and loved it. The hotel was great, clean with large spacious rooms! The reception were really helpful with advice, ordering taxis and restaurant reservations! It was a great location straight down a road from the Colosseum but was quite a long walk to the Spanish steps... More

Stayed here for four nights March/April and were very happy. Checked in before lunch and rooms were ready which was great right from the start. We had two rooms side by side on the first floor with an outer lockable door which turned them into a 2 bedroom apartment - another pleasant suprise. Rooms were a reasonable size, bathrooms quite... We stayed here for 3 nights for the Rome marathon and thought it was fantastic. We had a ground floor room with the widest bed in the universe. No tea or coffee facilities (boooo) but a great mini bar and loads of storage. I was worried that the room would be noisy being on the ground floor but it was... More

We stayed here with friends for 3 nights during the Rome marathon, which coincided with the Italy v Wales rugby match we had come to town for. We had booked 2 superior rooms months before using Trailfinders who are usually pretty good. Check in was ok but there just didn't seem to be enough staff there during the whole weekend,... More

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights last week and really loved our stay. The hotel is situated a little out of the main centre of Rome in a quiet neighbourhood. The vicinity seemed ok to us but some of the streets were dimly lit and, as in any city, I preferred not to walk around late at night.... More

The hotel was friendly, quiet, attractive, and in great location for seeing the Colosseum. the Roman Forum and for walking to the Appian Way. Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
