My stay at Milani was brief -one night, the 14th of July 2015. The staff member that greeted me was lovely - very kind, helpful. As a single female travelling alone, I had planned to take a train from Termini to meet a friend that evening. I was given very good and sound advice by the staff member at Milani... More

We stayed in Rome for 3 days at the Milani Hotel, yes it's a 3 star hotel, and it was very clean and located 1 block from the Termini. They have a a breakfast every morning for 10 euros, nothing special but it worked for us. Coffee machine with espresso, cappichino and a few other choices, juice, eggs, rolls, danishes etc..The AC... The location was great but we had rather distasteful experience here. It was our first time in Italy and really our first encounter with an Italian. The incident occured on the evening of 19 June 2015. The guy at the front desk was was quite rude in his demeanor and did not even want to talk to us when we... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. Had booked a room for 3, but they gave us two rooms instead which was great since the room was quite small. Very friendly staff and adequate room for what we needed. Only about a block from main train station so that was perfect. Seemed clean and service was good. Only downsides were that... More

The room was clean, and the afternoon staff were friendly and helpfull, the morning staff should be a toll booth operator on the desert, The " bed " was the hardest box spring with out a mattress, that I had ever slept on. A field cot was more comfortable, a folded blanket was thicker than the pillows we had, the... More

We are staying here while we are visiting Rome and have enjoyed it overall! The man that works the front desk during the afternoon shift is so nice and super helpful! The only complaint was that you can't use wifi in your hotel room and have to use it in the lobby.

I want to rate this place a 3 but just can't because the front desk was so friendly and helpful during our stay. In reality the hotel itself had its problems but it also had its strengths. Pros - location was about a 5 minute walk to the Termini station and had several good restaurants nearby. The service from the... More

This ended up being our least favorite hotel of our European adventures over the years. On the plus side, it's very close to the train station. It was also safe and secure. On the downside, the particular room we had was basically in the attic. The shower was tiny tiny and only had a curtain which created some water problems... More

The service here was very ordinary! The room was basic! But that's Ok! But when the air conditioning doesn't work and the latches on the windows don't close properly and the sun lights your room up at 7am they really don't care! The staff don't even smile when they see you! I'm so sorry for putting you out! That is... More

We have stayed at Hotel Milani previously because of its close location to Termini station, but probably won't stay here again. The evening was warm and we tried to adjust the air conditioner to find that it is set to 25-28 degrees with no adjustment outside of this. Consequently needed to open windows which meant that street noise made it... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
