This hotel was quite nice as we first walked in and the lady at the desk was very friendly and helpful (also talked great English). The room was very small but was not a problem as we were only there for two nights. The heater on the other hand was terrible and wouldn't turn off or turn down so it... More

We wanted something close to the termini and not only was it close but the room was huge. We had a small couch desk refrigerator. The bathroom was in great shape. If I visit Rome again I would definitely stay there. The staff was helpful with directions.

After stopping in this hotel for a 2nd time we were not disappointed with the stay. It is in an ideal location (a few minutes walk from the Termini) but is still quite a night. We first stayed here a few years ago in August and the air-con was a relief from the intense summer heat. This time we stayed... More

Most people at the front desk are very helpful and they will hold your luggage if you arrive before your room is ready. Francesco was at the desk some nights and he was extremely pleasant and helpful. When checking in, they will ask you to leave your passport with them for a short time. Don't be alarmed - a lot... The man at the front desk was rude and unhelpful! Told us to leave and come back at 1pm, when we asked for a cafe he rolled his eyes. That I can handle....however, when 1pm came we returned and began the checkin process which was again unhelpful. We talked into our room and were shocked by how dirty, smelly, and... More

We booked this hotel as we had an overnight stay before and after going on a cruise from Rome. Was an excellent choice, Perfect location for dropping off the bags and venturing out into the city. Check in was good and we had rooms straight away at 11am. Rooms are good sized and clean, small gripes would be the beds... More

1) Got there at 11:00 am and my check-in was at 12:00. In a dry and not so welcoming tone I was told to come back later at 12:00. 2) Come back to check-in. The elevator wasn't working. Had to carry my luggage all the way to the 4th floor 3) While the most spacious room out of the 3... More

My husband and I stayed at Milani for four nights in September 2014. We had a standard double room which was a good size and had a great armoire to easily hang clothes and store our bags. The private bathroom was wonderful, and the shower was a good size and had great water pressure. The room and bathroom were exceptionally... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
