I stayed at La Rovere in December 2007 with a couple of colleagues. We had a nice stay. The furnishings in the rooms are a bit worn, but we didn’t mind that since everything was clean. The bathroom was spacious which you can not see that often in Italy! When we came our room was cold – they forgot to... more

I inquired about a reservation for myself and two friends, and after never receiving a response, assumed that no rooms were available and made other accommodation arrangements. After returning home from a lovely holiday in rome and florence, I noticed that I had been charged a nights stay at this hotel. They insisted to my credit card company that I... more

This little hotel of some 12 units is located off a small noisy alleyway about a 10-15 minute brisk walk from St. Peters. Although I am sure there are far worse, this is not a hotel we would return to or recommend. To be fair the room was clean and the bed comfortable - and although the mildew smell from... more

We are staying at the hotel this week. I emailed for directions but got no reply. Fortunately we met a guide on the train from the airport and he was able to provide directions. Take the 64 bus. Get off at the first stop past the river. Cross the wide road. Look for their sign over the alley heading uphill.... more

I stayed for a week at Hotel La Rovere earlier this month. The hotel is located an easy walk to the Vatican, as well as near several major bus routes. It was neat as a pin, had helpful staff (who all spoke some English; no difficulty with communications), and I very much enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was simple but... more

Very nice hotel! We stayed at this hotel in July 2006. We had a small, lovely room with a great terrace (see piqture!) with plants and trees :-). The room had AC, and that is a must in Italy in July! Breakfast was nice. It is very close to the Vatican and not far from Trastevere. Pantheon, Spanish steps and... more

My Girlfriend and I stayed there for a week; we found the staff to be very friendly. The room size for the price was good and we had our own large private terrace from the room, which was an added bonus. The location was good, 10-minute walk to the Vatican and a 30 min walk to pizza navona. And the... more

This hotel is near the Vatican on the west side of the river. There are almost no shops or restaurants nearby and there is no Metro station either so be prepared for lots of walking. That said, the hotel is fine. Our room was small by US standards but typical European. Small city hotels are sometimes noisy but we had... more

The hotel is generally fine, quiet etc., but the radiator in our bathroom didn't work for our entire stay (and Rome in Jan is cold!). Each time we mentioned it we were told someone would look at it "tomorrow". We were not offered another room, and on the final evening (when neither the main room radiator nor the bathroom radiator... more

The location was perfect for visiting the Vatican, though the small crumbling alley that led to the hotel might make one nervous upon returning to the hotel at night. Our accomodations were quite adequate but the room was dark and the decor not very attractive. The bathroom was modern and kept very clean though and we were provided with plenty... more
