It's a great hotel near tourists points in the city. It also near Vatican. You can reach there easily by foot. The staff are great and the rooms are wide and clean. The breakfast is not that diverse but still good.

Michelangelo, the receptionist is a nice and polite fellow, great to deal with. This is the only really positive aspect of our stay in this hotel. The rooms are just ridiculously expensive, they are dusty (which made me sneeze all the time) and a bit rusty too (the bathrooms). When we arrived, the room was too cold and another receptionist... I was very disappointed. On arrival I got a tiny little room which smelled mold. I insisted to change it and got a bigger room, which had the same problem. The carpet was not clean and the room looked warn. I had to sleep window open because of the smell of mold. Can´t recommend the hotel.

Stayed 3 days at this quaint hotel with friendly and helpful staffs. Our room is cleaned daily and the breakfast is wonderful. Make sure to try the jam tart and yogurt breakfast bar. The hotel is 10 mins walking distance to the Vatican and 20 mins to Trastevere and Campo de fiori where you can find many good restaurants. Many... More

My girlfriend and I were staying at this hotel for 3 nights. After finding the entrance we were first off all impressed but the stylish entrance of the hotel, tucked away in one of those typical small streets you’d only find in Italy. We were greeted friendly and briefly at the reception and were given directions to the room right... More

We can recommend Hotel La Rovere. Centrally located for manyt interesting sites in Rome. The rooms are good with a very modern and fresh design. The service is good and friendly. The only point is that rooms at the bak of the hotel have a very small window. When you are claustrofobic this mght give a problem. Next time it is... More

One of my most favorable hotel experiences. Starting from the efficient, warm reception on arrival, dealing with all my inquiries with patience to my top room with terrace overlooking the City. Super!

The location of this hotel is ideal for trips to the Vatican City just 15 mins walk away. Also convenient for buses. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was in a quiet location and spotlessly clean but a little compact for my liking. I didn't very much care for the bean... More

Friends who visited La Rovere in February recommended this excellent hotel where the service and quality of all the staff is wonderful. Its location is excellent for the Vatican City yet it nestles in a quiet spot away from the busy hubub of Rome but within easy access of bars and restaurants. It has recently been refurbished, decor in our... More

We chose the La Rovere to be close to the Vatican. It was very close to most attractions on that side of the city. The location was quiet but close to everything you needed. The room was very comfortable. The service great. The breakfast more that is required to meet most tastes. Management takes great pride in their hotel and... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
