Yes we had a perfect stay. Welcome, service, kindness, from the check in to the check out, from the guest service to the night watcher. Well located, very well noise-isolated, even when facing the noisy side (the Tiber banks). Breakfast was fair, even if the place is not very nice (an enclosed room), but well decorated. And very clean. A... More

This is such a great little hotel! Friendly and helpful staff, clean spacious rooms and a great breakfast spread. A close walk to Vatican City and relatively easy walk to Piazza Navona and other sightseeing spots.

I like to be fair and objective on here as its peoples livelihoods - i am a traveller/a photographer and an environmentalist and travel around the world staying in good 4 star+ hotels. Now the pro's and con's. The hotel has had a good refurb it is modern and clean, the staff especially a Filipino gentleman called Michelangelo are very... More

Wonderful, intimate hotel near the Vatican and river. If you are an opera fan, a short walk to the Castel San'Angelo at night is not to be missed. lots of small restaurants nearby. Out and to the left takes you to the Vatican; to the right, don't miss them Villa Farnesina, via della Lungara 230, full of stunning 16th century... More

Great location, near the Vatican. Brilliant staff with nice breakfast. Rooms were cleaned regularly, great condition and very comfy. Didn't use the television much but there's so much to see in Rome, that it's not required. Worth the stay and price.

Hotel was in nice location close to Vatican City and Trastevere. Rooms are a bit small but recently rennovated. Staff was nice but a bit aloof and seemed harried with any requests. Decent hotel if you get a good rate.

Nice hotel, not on the main road so very quiet. Only a stone's throw from the river. A quick walk, or in our case an easy taxi ride to the Vatican - quickly organised by the friendly and helpful staff. Easy to walk up the hill to the Gariboldi memorials (no, not biscuits!) and then back down towards the Santa... More

I have been here at first week of march. Modern, clean, frienfly and quiet. Perfect location for the city tour. Enough close to the Vatican city (5 minutes easy walk) and the other attractions. I recomend to everyone.

Hotel La Rovere is very well located, at the feet of Piazza San Pietro, staff is uber friendly (specially mr Michelangelo) and rooms are clean. I don't even know if it's a 3 or 4 stars hotel, but I would give 5 stars for the staying.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
