Hotel La Rovere is very well located, at the feet of Piazza San Pietro, staff is uber friendly (specially mr Michelangelo) and rooms are clean. I don't even know if it's a 3 or 4 stars hotel, but I would give 5 stars for the staying.

located on a quiet, small street a block from a major artery running along the Tiber, the hotel la rovers is between a time-warp and the real world of rome. It is a great lower cost hotel. Location: the 'wrong' side of the Tiber for many 1st time visitors, it is actually a brilliant location. It is out of the... More

Staff was extremely friendly, breakfast was good with something different each day, was very quiet, location was very convenient for walking to sights. Booked transfer on Expedia using Conzorzio shuttle to get from airport to hotel and then back to airport -- this was very convenient and reasonable. Room and bathroom were fairly large by European standards. Good wifi on... More

My stay at this hotel was perfect! I arrived a bit late and hadn't reserved my room in advance because I was supposed to arrive earlier but I was welcomed by amazing people! Also, the rooms and the decors of the hotel are amazing! I recomand this hotel to anyone! Oh, one last thing, it is a short 10€ taxi... More

It's a great hotel near tourists points in the city. It also near Vatican. You can reach there easily by foot. The staff are great and the rooms are wide and clean. The breakfast is not that diverse but still good.

Michelangelo, the receptionist is a nice and polite fellow, great to deal with. This is the only really positive aspect of our stay in this hotel. The rooms are just ridiculously expensive, they are dusty (which made me sneeze all the time) and a bit rusty too (the bathrooms). When we arrived, the room was too cold and another receptionist... I was very disappointed. On arrival I got a tiny little room which smelled mold. I insisted to change it and got a bigger room, which had the same problem. The carpet was not clean and the room looked warn. I had to sleep window open because of the smell of mold. Can´t recommend the hotel.

Stayed 3 days at this quaint hotel with friendly and helpful staffs. Our room is cleaned daily and the breakfast is wonderful. Make sure to try the jam tart and yogurt breakfast bar. The hotel is 10 mins walking distance to the Vatican and 20 mins to Trastevere and Campo de fiori where you can find many good restaurants. Many... More

My girlfriend and I were staying at this hotel for 3 nights. After finding the entrance we were first off all impressed but the stylish entrance of the hotel, tucked away in one of those typical small streets you’d only find in Italy. We were greeted friendly and briefly at the reception and were given directions to the room right... More

We can recommend Hotel La Rovere. Centrally located for manyt interesting sites in Rome. The rooms are good with a very modern and fresh design. The service is good and friendly. The only point is that rooms at the bak of the hotel have a very small window. When you are claustrofobic this mght give a problem. Next time it is... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
