Excellent hotel by any standards. The rooms are pretty, clean and spacious. The courtyard is beautiful, with its lemon trees providing shade. The breakfast is substantial and well set out. I would highly recommend hotel Santa Maria as the perfect place to stay in Rome.

The hotel has a courtyard where we enjoyed a good cappuccino and enjoyed the quietness after a day in busy day in Rome. All sights are on walking distance. It's worth going inside the Santa Maria church and discover the side streets of Trastevere. Away from the tourist streets we found nice and inexpensive restaurants without too many tourists.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Hotel Santa Maria in Rome. The hotel is located in the charming neighborhood of Trastevere and was the perfect spot to stay in Rome. Our room had a large bed (maybe two twins pushed together), a closet with hanging space and with shelves, a desk and a dresser with... More

A very nice little hotel centrally located in Trastevere. We stayed there with our three young children for several nights at the suite Mansarda (three single beds and a bedroom with a double bed). In summer the breakfast is served in the patio in the shadow of orange trees. Many nice restaurants in the neighbourhood.

We spent four beautiful days at this hotel which is located in central Rome in a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood. The breakfasts are fabulous. The cappuccino is the best I tasted in the many places I visited in Italy! The hotel offers a happy hour at 5:30 p.m. and offer some free delicious snacks. There is an outside courtyard and... More

We stayed here for a weekend in May and it was even better than our already high expectations from the photos and reviews. The setting is stunning, the trastavere is a beautiful area, much more relaxed than the central tourist areas. The hotel is extremely peaceful, the grounds are beautifully kept - having breakfast in the courtyard surrounded by orange... More

this was my second visit to Santa Maria. What a great place! A perfect setting with the courtyard full of blooming orange trees and it's great location in Trastevere. It's right around the corner from Piazza Santa Maria, which when found is charming... I have to admit to getting lost a few times but that's part of the adventure.

Second trip to Rome in the past year and this location is the best we have found to wander central Rome and return each afternoon to a tranquil respite in the shade of the courtyard orange trees. Fabulous neighbourhood and very gracious staff. We intend to return.

Amidst the permanent effervescence of Trastevere - definitely the place to be in Rome - a quiet and nice stay, surrounded by scented flowers and good taste. Not only recomend but certainly plan to return.

Great location. Upon reservation, a car will pick you up from the airport for 50€. Trastevere is the place to be to have an insider's take on the city. Too many restaurants to choose from :).The hotel is vers nice and charming. Breakfast is simple and very good with fresh pastries. We stayed in the Mansarda suite, their largest room.... More
