Wonderful hotel, friendly staff and a very charming atmosphere. The area (Trastevere) is very trendy, there are a lot of nice restaurants around and Colosseum, Vatican, Piazza Navona or Fontana Trevi are all in walking distance.

This is a beautiful, quiet, comfortable hotel with amazing staff, right in the center of busy Trastevere. The location is unbeatable - walking distance (30 min or less) to the Palatine Hill (Colosseum, Forum), Vatican, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza Navona. Perfect for venturing out into the city for day trips, and then returning to the great nightlife of Trastevere.... More

I traveled to Rome in May with my mother and husband. We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite. It was perfect. We woke up to the church bells every morning. The hotel grounds are beautiful. As soon as you set foot outside your suite, you're in an orange grove. The hotel is also located in Trastavere, far from most of the... More

This hotel is charming. It was once an old convent built around a courtyard, and so it offers a respite from the hectic city streets. The location is terrific. It's a short walk to the Forum and Colosseum. (That came as a surprise, as I think of Trastevere as the 'far' side of the river.) There's a lot going on... More

Our family stayed at the Hotel Santa Maria in July 2014 and we had a wonderful stay. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and the setting was so quiet and charming with the orange trees in the courtyard and a very tucked away feeling in bustling Rome. The breakfasts were very good with lots of choices and the... More

Hotel Santa Maria is run by very welcoming and helpful staff. Rooms are small and tidy and the hotel is exceptionally quiet despite its location in the bustling neighborhood of Trastaeverre. The breakfast and bar staff are really friendly and to top it off surprised me with a complimentary bottle of proseco on my birthday! Loved the location; the surrounding... More

My family and I stayed here in July 2010 and still talk about this wonderful hotel to this day! Great location away from the main tourist area of Rome with a perfect courtyard and great breakfasts. We loved everything about it!

We stayed with our 3 children at the Hotel Santa Maria for 3 nights. The staff were helpful and always cheerful. Our rooms were extremely comfortable with unobtrusive but highly effective air conditioning - a must in Rome in July! Trastevere was a perfect location for us - close to the city centre yet not overly touristy. It is a... More

Beautiful hotel, ideally situated close to all of Rome's main attractions, but it is so tranquil you'd never believe it! The staff couldn't do enough for you. I made the booking as a surprise for my girlfriend's Birthday and requested they put some flowers in the room. They replied by return to suggest roses/ask what type and my budget. As... More

Superb location, a few minutes walk from the train station, 7 minutes from all the main attractions! Very friendly staff. Gave us a room upgrade with a view to the square for no extra charge. Surprisingly, the room was quiet although the square was noisy. Air condition worked perfectly. Breakfast is more than enough. Really cool room, spacious, classic design... More
