We loved the location, but were not pleased with the room. We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children (one queen and an adjoining room with two singles for the kids.) It was big enough, clean, but very dark and the AC was basically non-functioning. We all left with sore throats after sweating or freezing all night. My... More

After being picked up from the airport by our driver we arrived in good time at Hotel Madrid. Its ow the type of hotel we are used to staying at It was A much more traditional hotel where you did not feel like just a number. Luciano welcomed us with aplomb and his fitness was a thing of wonder as... More

We chose this hotel based on positive reviews and were very happy with our selection. The staff members were always helpful, personable, and warm. This was our very first trip abroad, and everyone was very responsive to our needs; suggesting restaurants, conversing with taxi drivers in Italian when needed, and answering questions about attractions. When we had questions about ticket... More

With so many good hotels in Rome, I will not definitely stay in Hotel Madrid anymore. One positive point: location - close to Piazza Spagna. Internet speed was also reasonable (it is paid - 5 euros per device - but depending on the rate that you choose on their site, you can have it for free). Negative points: - old... More

We had 2 nights here. This hotel is a great location and staff are very helpful. The rooms are a good size, the only thing that I was slightly concerned about was the communal areas. Tired carpets and very old tired plastic floral arrangements. These should be removed. The breakfast was excellent. I would stay here again

We are a small family who recently enjoyed a 4 day stay at Hotel Madrid. The Hotel has a great, central location close to the Spanish Steps, convenient for shopping, restaurants, Villa Borghese etc yet is situated on a quiet side street. The sparkling clean room was 3 star as expected, however the helpful hotel staff, especially Antonio, and the... More

Stayed here for 5 nights at a mid priced but still very affordable superior room (like a tiny suite, really). The location, in a narrow street between the Spanish Stairs and the Trevi fountain with lots of shopping opportunities close by made it an excellent place to stay in Rome. Nice breakfast at a small but beautiful roof terrace.

We recently stayed for 4 days. It was our first time in Roma and we travelled with our 2 children ages 11 and 9. Our room was fantastic, separate sleeping areas and well airconditioned. We went to Rome during our family summer trip. We are a family of five and it was very difficult to find a hotel with two connecting rooms or a room for five. ( 2 adults and 3 kids). Hotel Madrid had a room with a queen size bed for us and 3 twin beds for each of our kids.... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
