We stayed here with a family of 5 in the family suite based on the highly recommended tripadvisor rating and were sorely disappointed. the hotel is located in a great location of rome, not far from spanish steps and tevir fountain. Futher there are many nice restaurants and bars in the area. The service in the hotel is ok....friendly and... More

Dear Guest, We were saddened to read your comments and we take exception to what you have written. The only thing we can agree with you is that we are a classic and not modern hotel, for all the other comments we disagree. 1- the smell of smooking in your room, is very strange because our hotel is a no... Location is ideal, just on side street by the Spanish steps. Very clean rooms with incredibly comfortable beds and pillows and homemade breakfast. I usually like 5 star hotels but love this little gem. Service could not be friendlier and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The location of this hotel is great ..the best!!!the staff is great; they speak English, always helpful and friendly. The street downstairs can be a little noisy though due to a lot of foot traffic. What I didn't enjoy was the fact that the hotel is not modern and the rooms are tiny. If you're looking for something modern or... More

Wonderful location in the heart of the best shopping district and walking distance from sites like Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain. We had a very comfortable room for four, with a separate bedroom for the kids. Great for tall teenagers who want their space, big single beds, one of the very few hotels in the heart of Rome that offers... More

This was a return visit for us to the Hotel Madrid. The major attraction for us is that the hotel has family rooms. But along with that you get the added bonus of great location, fantastic staff - so friendly and efficient, gorgeous little rooftop breakfast room, and a clean and comfortable hotel - bathrooms are very nice! The rooms... More

Went there as a couple, and stayed for 3 nights. I picked the hotel because of its location. It is in the middle of shopping district; close to Trevi, and Spanish Steps. The hotel is kinda old, but it has its own charm. Lift is rather small but it does its job. Although I was having a hard time cause... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
