Visited for 1 night and glad we did. Easy to find the hotel right near the subway stop. Front desk staff were super nice. Informative and friendly. They recommended 2 meals which we loved. The map they provided was a big help. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a balcony. The room is tiny so I would... More

Wonderful, boutique hotel. 23 rooms tucked away in a lane between Via Veneto and Via Sistina. Very quiet but close to restaurants, the Spanish Steps, and the main shopping street. Most attractions within walking distance. Staff are very friendly and professional. The owner has published a walking guide for the Rome he loves. A very good investment.

The hotel was central enough to certain attractions (though trevi fountain- the closest- will be closed for a while I believe) and provided a very comfortable room. Definitely spacious enough! Especially for one! Breakfast was pretty nice! I wish they had had someone making fresh cappuccinos and espressos instead of a machine though. It's Italy, come on! Only downfall was... More

This was our first time to Rome and I chose this hotel based on past reviews and location near the metro stop. I couldn't have been happier. There were 8 of us in our group and we had 4 rooms. The rooms were wonderfully clean and the bathrooms were very nice. Were they big? No, but I wasn't in Rome... More

We very much enjoyed our stay at Modigliani - the room was small but well designed with very comfy bed and beautiful bathroom with huge shower! Our balcony had a lovely view over Rome (including the government building in the distance). There could be more wardrobe space and the breakfast was NOT good - but this is to be expected... More

This was my third trip to Rome. My last two hotels have not been good, so I was looking for something better relatively near Termini. I chose Hotel Modigliani because of its Rick Steves recommendation, good Trip Advisor reviews, and reasonable price (88.20 euros per day + tax). We had a great stay! The hotel is three blocks uphill from... More

You will not be disappointed choosing this hotel. A lot of main attractions close by, easy to walk to the Spanish steps, Pantheon, Trevi fountain. A great central location hotel, that is QUIET. We had a room with a small balcony and it was lovely to share a bottle of Prosecco at the end of a long day. The staff... More

You see, being a hotel manager myself, I hate posting reviews on internet about hotels, but in this case, I'll make an exeption, and this is why : The hotel is cute, nothing fancy, but everything is working fine and the rooms are clean, so are the bathrooms, the airco is working fine (and believe me in August it is... Little 23 room hotel near the spanish steps. I don't know how this is rated a 3 star hotel, as it was much better than some of our 4 star hotels we stayed at in Italy. Everything is clean, the breakfast is great, the beds were new and comfortable, etc. The air conditioning during these mid 90 degree days worked... More

My husband, daughter and I spent two nights at this hotel in August 2015. The rooms were clean, yes compact but beautifully and tastefully decorated. Our only gripe would be that the walls are paper thin with us hearing the full conversations of the guests in the next room. Breakfast and service were both excellent.

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
