They used the excuse that there was water damage in one of the rooms and had to move those guest into our room. We requested a special room for our 25th and had made the reservations 4 months in advance..We were told it is a "small room" but that we look like such a romantic couple, that it would be... more

we (a couple in the 40s) have been staying in this hotel for 5 nights. the hotel is in small building which was once (17th century) a monastry; it is located just opposite of the famous Fontana di Trevi. the hotel itself is absolutely romantic, and so is the location. We really loved our room with a view on the... more

We loved this special hotel. It is a small, quirky and slightly shabby hotel right in front of the Trevi Fountain but it was wonderful. If you want luxury do not stay here. If you want atmosphere in a unique Italian Hotel this is the place for you. I will be back. more

All I have to say is that this hotel was completely disturbing. We arrived at the hotel which was directly overlooking the Trevi Fountain. The font desk had what seemed to be an 80 year old lady bring our bags up in the 1 person elevator. I would have done it myself, but before I realized, the bags where on... more

My party of 3 booked two view rooms, but slight mix up upon arrival got us only one fountain view rm. (My friend was willing to take the non-view rm - her main concerns were a clean room & comfortable bed & she said her rm. met her expectations.) Our rm. on the 2nd level was quite small but clean,... more

We were lied to from the start. We were told the room we had booked had "hydraulic" problems. Thought it was a story but prepared to give the benefit of the doubt. Room we were given was 2mx4m with single beds for a couple on their 30th anniversary. We were supposed to get a room with a view of the... more

My boyfriend and I had an adorable room overlooking the Trevi Fountain; the view was almost 'too good to be true'. We think this hotel is perfect for travellers in search of authentic Italian charm. more

My husband and I have just returned from 3 nights in Rome where we stayed at the lovely Hotel Fontana. I would definitely recommend room 204 - ok, so no view of the Trevi Fountain but this means you get a good night's sleep and much appreciated air con. The breathtaking view from the breakfast room, which is intimate, light... more

I was very disappointed in the Hotel Fontana. Maybe I was expecting more but apart from the view of the Trevi which is outstanding, the Hotel itself is definitely not a 4 star. My husband and I stayed in room 109 which was very very small. I booked this hotel about 8 months prior and felt that for the money... more

We stayed in this hotel in March 2007 and we couldnt have asked for anything more. Our room directly overlooked the fountain (106) and it was perfectly fine. We loved openning up the old shutters and leaning out of the window on an evening people watching!! As soon as we saw our room with a view we couldnt believe it... more
