The restoration of the fountain was interesting to watch and I think the completion is getting close. The location of the hotel is great and it was a great spot for "people watching". The double glazed windows didn't shut out all the noise - I suspect that the windows need seals fitting. The air-conditioning was good when used with a... More

The air conditioning in the room barely worked and it was very hot and humid. Reported the issue, someone came, but said it was working as best it could. It was very disappointing that the fountain is under construction and not running at all. This should be noted by the hotel when booking on sites.

The staff working at the Fontana Hotel have been fantastic! I cannot rate them highly enough. I have been the 'customer from hell' having had to change dates, but they have been very understanding and tried to do all they can to help.

we are booked to stay here late october 2015. We checked with management re the fouuntain restoration and were assured it would be complete. However, after watching the webcam and also having contacted the Dept of Tourism and the restoration website, it appears management were not entirely honest about completion dates. They have our money and are unsympathetic and uncompromising... More

We booked the hotel for the location, however althoug Trevi fountain still looked amazing has not been functional since last year due to renovations, the pictures on the Internet of the hotel are somewhat misleading. We did expect a small room but not as small as we had, the room was on a slope, with the luggage rolling down the... More

The Trevi Fountain is not working, being under major repair for the last year. Two reasons for paying a premium for this three star hotel are A) the fountain and the sound and sight of it's rushing water and B) the prime location easy walking distance to major sites of Rome. The Hotel Fontana still has its excellent location, but... More

The low score is for the fact that the reception staff rather than calling a taxi to the airport (as requested) called 'something' /unmarked car (might have been his cousin or who knows) and rather than the set price of 30Euro to Campino airport, attempted to extort 55Euro (almost double). I really don't appreciate when the hotel staff attempt to... More

You could not ask for a better location as you come out of the hotel door you are right in front of the Trevi fountains, it is a small friendly hotel, if you manage to get one of the rooms at the front you get a brilliant view, we visited it in May and there is still work going on... More

We stayed at the Hotel Fontana and had a room that overlooked the Trevi Fountain. There are no words to describe how beautiful and serene this was. The breakfasts were wonderful, the front desk staff were always very helpful, & I will stay at the Hotel Fontana any time I come to Rome in the future.

The hotel is in perfect location literally opposite the trevi fountain. My partner and I visited in February unfortunately there was scaffolding over the fountain but of course nothing to do with the hotel. We did loads of walking everyday and all the main attractions and everything we wanted to see and do was within walking distance from the hotel... More

Staying in Trevi

Neighborhood Profile
Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighborhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.
