We stayed here the week commencing the 20th of april. Overall we found the hotel ok, but not worth the price even with the free upgrade. The location is right next to the Termini train station, however is still around a 30 minute walk to the closest attractions, colliseum, spanish steps. This often meant paying for transport for say the... More

This is a charming little hotel in an old building fully renovated. The staff are friendly, helpful and willing to assist. The lift in the building can be problematic requiring the use of the stairs. There is a delightful outdoor terrace area that serves drinks during in the early evening. The breakfasts were very good. Our room on level 3... More

Hotel Alpi has great kerb appeal and is a 5 minute walk from Termini station, making it convenient for transport links. It's on a relatively quiet street, although the area immediately next to the station does tend to be popular with the local drunks. We never felt unsafe walking around though. Our room (431) had a south facing balcony, mini... More

We stayed at the Hotel Alpi for two nights the weekend after Easter. Our flight from the UK arrived at about 7.30pm, we used the Terrorvision coach shuttle service from Ciampino airport to the Termini station and then walked the short (five minute) distance to the hotel. Check in was swift and pleasant and we were shown to our room... More

My wife, sister-in-law, brother-in-law stayed in Hotel Alpi for three nights after returning to Rome from a cruise. It is a boutique hotel ideally situated for exploring Rome. It is about five minutes walk from the transport hub - main train and bus station, shuttle bus to airports and hop-on hop-off open top bus tour terminus. The hotel is beautiful,... More

In Rome first class hotels are very expensive if you choose trendy names and in the center. Hotel Alpi is a very nice and friendly hotel, very well cared and with friendly staff. This hotel is 5m walk apart from central Rome station (Termini), wher you can find major train station in the city, terminal bus and metro. From here... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
