We stayed in the Grifo 10 years ago and like the central old city location, walking distance to the Colosseum and Palazzo Venecia to catch the Red Bus. Clean. ELEVATOR!!!! Excellent staff (one here on our previous visit) Near La Taverna dei Monti ristorante which we like.

Hotel Grifo is clean, quaint and a terrific bargain. Centrally located ( just steps from the Colliseum ) and the staff was very gracious & accommodating as we arrived early from a long flight and they had our rooms ready. I recommend room #25...it has a delightful terrace.....what better place to sip a glass of vino after a long day... More

This hotel was friendly, accomodating and helpful in the extreme. My husband flew in from Australia early morning and was offered coffee, luggage was stored until room was ready. Rosa and Allesandro were so very helpful with directions , great places to see, how to get there, (laundrette next door) The breakfasts were plentiful and all the staff were happy... More

Very clean, comfortable and centrally located. The staff was very helpful and friendly, specifically Alessandro who gave us many great tips for Rome and other parts of Italy. Would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Hotel Grifo is centrally located in an area that is not touristy but is full of shops and restaurants. A short walk to the colosseum, too. The room was spacious and clean, with lots of hot water and good light. Breakfast was wonderful and plentiful. The best part, though, is the staff. Alessandro, the gentleman at the desk in the... Pretty little hotel, clean rooms. Very nice and helpfull staff. Unique situation close to the coloseum and really in the center of the city, where you can find plenty of little bars and good restaurants.

First the positives: the lady proprietor was very helpful at check in pointing out historical and geographical aspects on the map she gave us. The breakfast staff were very kind and helpful. Staff were generally friendly. She recommended a good nearby restaurant on the first evening. The negatives: firstly for €131 the room was very small. We booked on a... More

We arrived in Rome early morning for one night stay. Hotel staff (Alexander and Rosa) were very helpful. They shared a lot of information about Rome and places to visit. They helped us in planning our overall stay and sightseeing and without them it was impossible to cover Rome in one day. Our room was spacious, clean. Most of the... More

After a "rip-Off" ride by one of Rome's famous taxi's, we arrived at our hotel. The counter staff were very nice and warned us how not to get cheated in future cab rides. Our room was small and unfortunately had a strong smoking smell. We had asked for a terrace room, which turned out to be a bad decision, since... More

If you want a hotel with an authentic Italian feel then this is the place to stay! The staff are very welcoming and helpful. There are lots of great places to eat within walking distance too. We particularly enjoyed relaxing after a busy day on the roof terrace..an extra bonus we didn't expect. Highly recommended, thank you.
