Our room was small and the stairs were very narrow but we had air conditioning! It was a quiet street and breakfast was ok. Make sure you ask for the list at breakfast for other items, some cost extra such as eggs. The front desk was very helpful. It was very close to the Colesseum. Remember that there is an... More

I recently stayed at the Hotel Grifo with my girlfriend and her sister and we really enjoyed our brief two day stay at the Grifo. The location is excellent and is probably a 15 minute walk from termini station or 5 minute taxi. In addition it is walking distance from all major attractions including the ancient roman ruins, collesium, victor... More

Room wasn't too big but don't expect to have large rooms in the centre of Rome. Besides, you won't be staying in your room other than sleeping/showering when visiting Rome. It was very clean and bedsheets were done everyday. TV/Wi-Fi Internet/A/C/Shower worked great. Cafeteria downstairs had your regular breakfast with cold cuts and cheese, buns, sweets...not too fancy but it... More

We just spent a week here (my two children and I) and although we enjoyed much more eating in Trastavere - we thought that this section of town was the best to stay in and the people at Hotel Grifo were very nice and the price simply can't be beat. I had a little problem with the air conditioning in... More

Really enjoyed the four nights stay at this hotel with my sister. All the staff were very helpful and kind. It’s like a safe home in a foreign country for us. On top of that, the Colosseum is just a 5min walk away, and the nearest train station is just about 2min away which we took to get to the... More

We spent 5 days in Grifo with my girlfriend and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean, simple, atmospheric and perfectly located. We mostly walked during our trip but the metro was also less than 200 meters away so moving around Rome was made very easy. The area is also full of great small restaurants so I don't really... We stayed in this Hotel for a week and we had a very pleasent stay. Our room was a little small, but big enough in our opinion. There was a closet, a little desk, and even a small fridge. The room was very neat and clean and every day we got new towels. The crew at the hotel is very... More

This vacation in Rome was very spetial for me. It was my parents' first time in Europe! Since the first time, the hotel's crew were very patients and helpful with us. Certainly when we come back to Rome, we will stay again in Hotel Grifo! Special thanks to Louigi and Alessandro for being so attentive with my family.

I know that you are warned that the room is small but this was small even for Europe. No Fridge, No Safe, No Coffee/Tea not even glasses in the room. On the plus side the staff/owner are very nice and helpful. The location is very good, walking distance to most of the attractions. The breakfast was OK.If We came to... More

I have only signed up to Trip Advisor specifically to leave this review. Rome was outstanding; there truly aren't enough superlatives to describe this wonderful city. It is truly breathtaking. This holiday was brilliant and I doff my cap to Hotel Grifo for their polite and friendly employees, in addition to their superb location and impeccable service. I do not... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
