We just returned from an amazing month in Italy. We started out by flying into Rome and Staying at Hotel Grifo for 4 nights. The pros are the great location (we walked to everything!) and helpful, friendly staff. Also the 5th floor patio was very nice for sitting out in the evenings with a glass of wine. The hotel itself... More

Our family group of eleven selected this small hotel on the recommendation of good friends. We booked directly through Gifo's website and stayed three nights in April 2012. Our three rooms with baths were clean and comfortable.A European breakfast was included. An elevator was a plus. The hotel enjoys an excellent location -- a short walk to the Colliseum. Forum... My Fiancé and I stayed here for two nights in April of 2012. It is in an excellent location- very close to the metro station and Coliseums. The staff was very nice and spoke English. We stayed in the main building on the first floor. The room is basic, not frills, but had clean sheets and warm water. We would... More

We spent 4 days in Hotel Grifo and had a wonderful time. The hotel is minutes away from tourist attractions, shopping and a great resturant down the street from the hotel. Go out the door, take a right and stop at the corner, the resturant is on the left. wonderful food and staff. The rooms are small and the bathroom... More

Stayed at The Grifo beginning April and can honestly say our first two days in the apartment block over the road from the hotel was awful, however and our last two days in the main hotel were much better. The apartment block across from the Grifo holds three hotel rooms on the second floor (no lift) of a private apartment... More

Good for a budget stay. Includes breakfast and free WiFi. Beds and mattresses were quite old but okay. They have friendly staff too. Location is near to Colosseo and metro station. Not bad after all. More

Stayed here for 4 nights the week just before Easter. If you looking for a hotel close to ancient Rome this is it. Approximately a 10 min stroll to the Colosseum and Forum. To get to the Trevi fountian is about a 20min walk. (I'm a fast walker, but cant think it will take more than 30mins?). You can get... More

We stayed here for about 5 days and can highly recommend this hotel. The location is brilliant. Walking distance form the Coloseum, Trebvi fountain, Spanish steps, Roman forum, etc etc etc. The only place we took a bus to was the Vatican, but it can be walked in 20-ish minutes if you are up to it. Nice roof terrace as... More

Stayed 5 nights in mid-March with my teenage daughter. Can't complain about the location of this hotel. Clean, comfortable and we had a terrace though there really wasn't any great view from our terrace as we were on the second floor. About 10 minutes leisure walk from hotel to Colosseum and approximately 40 minutes to the Vatican City. The restaurant... More
