If you want a hotel with an authentic Italian feel then this is the place to stay! The staff are very welcoming and helpful. There are lots of great places to eat within walking distance too. We particularly enjoyed relaxing after a busy day on the roof terrace..an extra bonus we didn't expect. Highly recommended, thank you.

We were treated with the greatest of care by the friendly staff, who made our visit to Rome a special occasion. In particular, we received good recommendations for what to see and the best way to get around this big city.

An absolute gem of a find, fantastic staff in a wonderful hotel, located in the middle of a beautiful city. Conveniently placed within walking distance of every site, museum and attraction, making it a must stay. The staff are really friendly and helpful with nothing being to much trouble. The hotel is spotlessly clean and they provide a fresh great... More

My husband and I spent three nights here! We loved the location. We were able to walk to everything or use the nearby Metro. Our room was small, but very clean and adequate. We were very happy there was an elevator to use. The best thing about this hotel was the staff! We thought they went out of their way... More

We had five nights in Grifo. We found only good things: situation, helpfull and smiling personnell, good breakfast (included to price) with good service, roof garden, silence to sleep, clean. I could come back to same hotel!

This is a very nice friendly 3 star hotel. As has been said it is a great location. away from the Crush but easy walking distance of the Forums & Colleseo, Pantheon & Piazza Navona. I also walked easily to Trevi & Spanish steps but I like walking. The Rooms were comfortable but basic. There were no tea making facilities... More

I didn't want to write this review until we had spent more time in other Italian hotels to compare as I found some things a little odd about Hotel Grifo. First let me say that the staff here are absolutely fantastic and really will help you "survive" Rome. Heed their advices and your stay in the city will be enhanced... More

We thought we booked a hotel and were very surprised at the low quality for the 150 euros per night we paid for a double room. The room was in 3rd floor with an elevator that didn't work. We were denied two keys for the room, even though we needed a key to open the front door and the door... More

Hotel Grifo is in a great location in Rome. Walk to the Coliseum, Forum and Palatine Hill. Right on the bus line for Vatican city. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Ask Rosa for dinner recommendations in this delightful neighborhood. Breakfast is included with lots of choices. A roof-top terrace is a great place for a quiet glass... More

This was our third stay at Hotel Grifo. That's a statement in and of itself. We have been to Rome multiple times and pick it for its location, value, neighborhood feel and lovely Staff. At this point, it feels like coming home. On our other trips it was a family affair. Our girls loved the cool vibe of the neighborhood,... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
