Hotel Grifo is a small yet homey hoel. It is located close to the Roman Colosseum (10 min walk). The room itself was small but enough for two people to stay in. The designs are a bit old and probably outdated but the room is clean. The hotel also serves breakfast for free composed of bread, spreads, cereals, coffee, fruit... More

We stayed for 3 nights and most notably thought the location is great. Termini station 15 min walk, Colosseum and Roman Forum within 5 min walk and everything else within walking distance. Check in time is 2pm but they let you leave the bags in the lobby part if you arrive earlier. The rooms are small and basic, we found... More

We spent 4 nights at this hotel and do not come back here any more. First of all the rooms are dirty, full of ants and stink from canalization. Then, the breakfast are really spare, for example if you want to eat scrumble eggs you have to pay additionally. We went in winter and the rooms were so cold that... More

I stayed for two days and the people of the hotel were very polite since the moment I made my first contact with them by phone (because it was the very first time I booked a room in a hotel so I had some questions I needed to clarify) 'til I left to the airport. When I arrived, they gave... More

Stayed here with my husbond for Christmas, and we found out how fine the location is. The room is small, the shower is only giving less water, and temperature sometimes changes from ice cold to hot-hot. 2 chairs in the room could have improved the standard. The fridge in the room is really a PLUS. Breakfast could be improved much... More

I stayed at hotel Grifo for 3 nights in Rome and I was happy with my choice. The location of this hotel can't be beat. It's a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum, 20 minute walk to the Vatican and is just off the main strip so you don't get the noise. The staff was absolutely wonderful for the entire... More

Basic hotel. Quite small but nice and tidy rooms. Location was absolutely the best thing in this hotel! It was near centre and you could walk everywhere. Also taxis, metro and busses were near. Breakfast wasn't very good. Staff was really friendly and helpful, they all spoke english too.

Dear guest, thank you for your feedback. As you said, our hotel is situated in a area that is a very great starting point to visit the city. We are near the main turistic attractions of Rome and pulic transport stations. It is so sad that you disliked our breakfast, since a few months we are now proposing a new... More

Everything was so close, including the main railway station. All major sights are within a reasonable walking distance. Staff were very friendly, and extremely responsive via email in the lead up to our stay when the airline changed our dates at short notice. They catered to our gluten free needs exceptionally well. For a reasonably priced hotel close to everything,... More

A must stay in rome. Very centrally located to all the major sites, everything was a stone's throw away! Staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't ask for much more. I would recommend booking if you were looking for a basic but good priced hotel. Breakfast was great too!

@Location: very near to colosseum and other attractions. Just walking distance. Walking distance from metro station. All the restaurants and bars were nearby. @staff: very friendly staff. They helped us about directions towards attractions as well as to Termini metro to catch bus back to airport. @Hotel: Newly renovated rooms. Good breakfast. They cleaned the room every day for our... Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
